🌞 Here comes another heatwave, we plan to be open as normal thanks to the fans working overtime to keep the shop as cool as possible & the changing room downstairs is a lovely temperature thanks to being particularly underground! 🏊🏽 Lovely Flick who’s worked with us in the shop for over 4 years is celebrating a big birthday this year 🎉 Which has inspired her to swim the English Channel in August as part of a relay team to raise money for SwimTayka- SwimTayka’s mission is to give disadvantaged communities around the world access to swimming teachers who can not only provide the life skills of swimming but create a legacy for today’s children, who will grow up to teach the next generation. Since opening in July 2012 we’ve had to adapt a lot over the years, as we were the only gift shop on Fountain street when we opened. Selling predominately Artisan made products, however no one really knew what Artisan meant then… As a family we’d lived in France & Spain where we knew the word to mean a ‘trades person who makes things…’ we sold everything from pottery, cushions, jams & chutneys, De-commissioned fire hose bags, soaps, tea towels, prints, cards, olive oil, candles, baskets to chocolate, blankets, teddy bears & Lavender…
