Why not make it a weekend and visit the best carnival in the UK Saturday 7th November. Bridgwater
The origins of the carnival can be traced back to the Gunpowder Plot of 1605.
Newspaper records can trace the carnival from 1847 making Bridgwater Guy Fawkes carnival the oldest in the UK.
Over the years the carnival has evolved from carts having lanterns to the spectacular carts we see today.
