From the first moodboards, late nights and “what if I actually did this?” moments, to now creating spaces for incredible clients across Cornwall and beyond… it’s been quite the journey.

Kinda chic to create a home that feels like you

This one was a new build. Blank walls, furniture that didn’t belong together and no real feeling of home anywhere.

New builds are tricky because there’s no character to work with, you have to bring it all in yourself. So that’s what we did. Layers, texture, warmth, furniture that actually makes sense in the space, and little corners you want to sit in.

Introducing our latest holiday home project.

The brief was simple: a space that feels like a deep exhale. Somewhere designed to be lived in slowly. Long breakfasts, salt damp towels, books left open on the arm of a chair.

Because here’s what good design does for a holiday home. It’s the reason guests extend their stay, book again before they’ve left and tell their friends about it after. Timeless over trendy. Layered neutrals, natural textures and pieces chosen to earn their place. Nothing that shouts, everything that settles.

Ever wondered what actually happens when you enquire with an interior designer?

Can we talk about this for a second…

The Every time I tell someone I’m a Cornish interior designer they picture the same thing, white walls, rope details, a lobster cushion somewhere. And look, I love a coastal home when it’s done properly, but not every house down here needs to look like it belongs in a gift shop.

Some of my favourite projects have been the opposite, moody, warm, a bit unexpected, nothing you’d find on a postcard. If your home is in Cornwall it doesn’t automatically owe anyone a beach theme.

What does your dream Cornish home actually look like, tell me below, I have a feeling it’s not what people assume.

There’s a moment in every project where a house stops being a house and starts feeling like home.

With Ellie Frost, it began with a conversation about how she wanted to live, not just how she wanted things to look. A bright, calm home for her and her daughter, with a gentle nod to the sea outside. She’d already gathered such beautiful pieces through her Castlery UK and DUSK.com collaborations, so my job was to implent them into something that felt like home.

Soft and restful in the bedroom, where the Dusk pieces could settle into calm. Warm and grounded in the living and dining space, where the Castlery furniture brought people together. And running through all of it, the small considered choices that you feel more than you notice.

A home should hold your life gently. That’s what we set out to make, and I think we got there.
