Apparently my career plan is just “do all the things I enjoy” - and Pren Decor is still firmly on that list. 🤣
Pren Decor has been a little quieter on social media over the past few months, but I definitely haven’t disappeared.
It also seems that I don’t know how to have just one job. 😂
Alongside Pren Decor, my other business Impress Rutland has been keeping me very busy, including a recent order for 100 charity cycling jerseys. I’ve also somehow ended up taking on social media work for a few businesses, creating and managing their content - another slightly accidental addition to the job list, but one I’ve really enjoyed.
Then there’s the decorating…which has somehow turned into something much more than I’d ever intended - not that I’m complaining. 😂
What started as helping someone out with one room turned into doing more rooms for them, which then led to a recommendation to a family member who now wants virtually their whole house decorating, along with help with the interior design side of things too - choosing paint colours, furniture, accessories and styling everything together.
And if you know me, you’ll know that is completely up my street because I absolutely LOVE interiors. 🤎 It probably also explains why I’ve always loved making home decor for Pren Decor so much in the first place.
I’ve also had a wrist injury, so I’ve had to ease off the reclaimed wood work a little and actually allow it to heal…as much as possible while apparently juggling 836 other things 😂 - plus there’s wedding planning and all the usual boring day-to-day life admin thrown in for good measure.
But this weekend I was back making a few orders, including some Rutland coasters, this lovely personalised reclaimed wooden box and a little sneak peek of a custom sign we’ve been working on.
And I’d forgotten just how happy a pile of reclaimed wood can make me. 😂🪵
There’s something about the different grains, colours, markings and imperfections that I just love. No two pieces are ever the same, and I still get ridiculously excited seeing what each one turns into.
Some people get excited about shoes. I still get excited about a really good bit of reclaimed wood. 🤣🪵
So this is basically my little “I’m still here!” post.
Pren Decor is still very much here and I’m still taking orders.
