I am pleased to share news with you that ‘Coronation Chicken’ has been chosen to be a part of the Oxfordshire Museum Open Call Exhibition in Woodstock in September! Last year my hare enjoyed its place in the gallery and this year it’s my chickens 🐓 I’m quite chuffed (even if I am blowing my own trumpet..or clucking too loudly) Please forgive my showy offy behaviour, it is not funny or clever and will only last for an hour or so I promise 🤣😊

After finding this beautiful dried something or other (!) on our walk this morning, we spent some time this evening making a piece of artwork based on the shapes and textures we could see. I demonstrated to R how to use watercolours, sketching pencils, pens, crayon and collage and we spent the next half an hour in my studio experimenting 🙂 Once started, I let her loose with the materials to develop her artwork as she wished. She also worked on top of my demo piece and added her own flair ❤️

Found these on my walk around a nature reserve this morning. The structure is amazing..Google search says ‘wild carrot’ I may try to do a piece of artwork inspired by them

Apologies for the recent radio silence but I have been busy working on an ‘eggciting’ piece of art work 🤣 I have just completed a large piece of mixed media work entitled ‘Coronation Chicken’ This is one of the largest pieces of work I have produced and measures approximately 1m x 40cm. Each chicken portrait has been made using oil pastel, paint and pencil and the gold frames have been individually made using cardboard, wood and paper mache. Zoom in closely to see descriptions of the chickens on the gallery labels. I am particularly pleased with this piece and I hope you enjoy looking at it 😊
