Christmas prep continues… 🎄✨

Today’s job is one of those little behind-the-scenes tasks that takes far longer than you’d think — getting baubles wired and ready to use for wreaths, decorations, workshops and the busy Christmas market weekends ahead.

There are red ones, gold ones, shiny ones, matt ones, glittery ones… and quite a lot of florist wire! 😂

It might not look particularly exciting at this stage, but doing as much of this preparation in advance as possible means that when the Christmas rush really begins, everything is ready to go.

Slowly but surely, the dining table is disappearing under Christmas supplies… which I think means festive season has officially arrived at Carys Ainsworth Floristry. ❤️🎄

Workshop prep for Thursday at Hoghton Tower is well underway 🍂🎃

I’ve been out gathering supplies for the pumpkin arrangement workshop, and everything is now starting to take shape — pumpkins, roses, gerberas, eryngium, berries, seasonal foliage and plenty of lovely autumn colour.

There’s always a lot that happens before anyone arrives at the table, from choosing the flowers and foliage to conditioning everything and making sure all the materials are ready to go.

I’m really looking forward to seeing how everyone’s arrangements turn out, because even when everyone starts with the same basic ingredients, they always end up completely individual.

This is also my final autumnal workshop before Christmas workshops officially begin, so it feels like a little seasonal turning point too. 🍁➡️🎄

And judging by the number of pumpkins currently sitting in my kitchen, I think I’m going to need a few more pumpkin recipes as well… 🎃😂

Now to get everything prepped and ready for Thursday.

A little bit of the family business in action 🤎

I had some flowers remaining from this week’s workshop, so rather than let them go to waste, I decided to let my daughter have a go at arranging them herself.

And I think she did rather well — especially for a two-and-a-half-year-old! 🌿

She chose where everything went and put together this little autumnal arrangement with what remained — roses, chrysanthemums, carnations and all those lovely warm seasonal colours.

It’s always nice being able to share a bit of what I do with her, especially when it means giving the flowers another moment to shine too.

Maybe I’ve got a future florist on my hands… 🍂

What a lovely evening at Garden Terrace last night 🍂🤎

Our Autumn Wreath Workshop was such a gorgeous, relaxed evening — from mossing the frames and building up all that beautiful seasonal foliage, right through to choosing the finishing touches from the decoration bar.

And just look at the finished wreaths! 😍

One of my favourite things about workshops is seeing how everyone starts with the same basic materials but ends up creating something completely individual.

A huge thank you to the lovely ladies who joined me, and also a big thank you to Garden Terrace for having us, making us so welcome and giving us such a lovely space for the evening.

🍂 All set up and ready for tonight at Garden Terrace!

The foliage is in, wreath frames are ready, and the decoration bar is stocked with lots of lovely natural extras so everyone can make their wreath completely their own.

I absolutely love getting everything set up before a workshop — seeing all the materials laid out and knowing that in a few hours there’ll be four completely different finished wreaths sitting here 🥰

Tonight we’re making autumn wreaths, but this little decoration-bar setup has also got me very excited for the Christmas wreath workshops coming up… 🎄✨

What a lovely evening at Bees Country Kitchen The Bees🎃🍂

Tonight’s Autumn Pumpkin Arrangement Workshop was full of gorgeous seasonal flowers, lots of creativity and some seriously beautiful finished pumpkins!

Everyone created their own arrangement using autumn foliage, roses, gerberas, berries, physalis and plenty of lovely seasonal textures — and I absolutely love how different they all turned out. 🌿🌹

A huge thank you to Mr & Mrs B for having us, for the absolutely delicious food, and for such lovely company throughout the evening. It made the whole workshop feel so relaxed and welcoming. ❤️

Thank you as well to everyone who came along and created with me tonight — you all did such a brilliant job.

And I’m already looking forward to our next workshop at Bees, when we’ll be getting properly festive with a Christmas Wreath Workshop on Wednesday 25 November at 6:30pm. 🎄✨
