Take me back to the sunflower fields!🌻
I spent the happiest evening with some of the cast of Calendar Girls: The Musical last night, thanks to The Rotherwick Patch who so kindly allowed us to film amongst the sunflowers as we begin promoting the show I’ll be appearing in this November.
I honestly don’t know quite how I’m finding the time to learn the role of Annie between Hurlands, Bollé & Bloom and being the lead singer in a band (yes… somehow that’s still a thing too! 🤣), but my love of the stage has always outweighed the chaos that inevitably follows. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to step back onto the stage in a role that is a dream… and a huge challenge too!
My diary might be bursting at the seams, but it’s bursting with the things I love. There will always be room for flowers, beautiful interiors, music and theatre.
I’ve been part of Basingstoke Amateur Theatrical Society for around 15 years now, and it’s such a special part of my life. It’s an incredible theatre society run by passionate volunteers who pour their hearts into creating productions of an amazingly high standard alongside professional directors, musicians and crew. Everything is done not for profit, but simply for the love of theatre, and I think that passion shines through every single production.
If you’ve never seen Calendar Girls: The Musical, I’d absolutely love you to come along. It’s funny, uplifting, heartbreaking and wonderfully human, based on the true story of the Yorkshire WI women. Gary Barlow and Tim Firth have created something incredibly special, and I promise you’ll leave with a full heart.
We’re only on for one week this November (18th to 21st) so if you’d like to support me, BATS, and everyone who has worked so hard to bring this show to life, I’d love to see some familiar faces in the audience.
