A sweet gift for a little girl’s birthday tea party I put together this morning, ready to be hand delivered. Snapdragons, garden roses, gaura, nigella, lavender and little daisies, hand-picked from my garden last night. 🌷❤️🥰 💐

After a truly horrific ordeal on Friday night that left her with cuts, bruises, a broken hand, and emotional wounds we are only just beginning to understand, my strong, sweet, beautiful daughter Ella was determined to return to university and step back on stage to complete her first year.

This was her final assessment performance, singing an original song she wrote.

Ella has given me permission to share this as she begins her recovery and considers what comes next - whether she stays where she is or starts afresh.

I cannot begin to put into words how proud I am of her courage and strength. But above all, I am in awe of the incredibly talented, kind, creative, and beautiful young woman she is.

Ella, you are extraordinary. Please never let this experience define you or diminish your light. Take your pain and your trauma, and turn them into something powerful. Keep writing, keep singing, keep creating. Your voice is stronger than anything that tried to hurt you, and your future is brighter than you can imagine.

Don’t give up. The world needs your music, your talent, and your beautiful soul. ❤️

This morning’s Scent of Spring workshop with Lucinda at Burning Bright was just lovely.

Twelve of us in the greenhouse, sunshine streaming in, the air smelling incredible, and a really relaxed, easy atmosphere. Everyone learnt how to blend their own fragrance and went home with a diffuser, bespoke cleaning spray and pretty scent stones in one of Lucinda’s little cloth bags - I also cut some fresh tulips and seasonal stems and sent my guests home with a small bouquet of flowers from the garden 🌷

There were breakfast muffins and flapjacks, Nespresso coffee and plenty of tea, and a few even stayed on afterwards for a game of tennis which kind of says it all!

What I’m trying to create here is more than just a workshop. It’s the setting, the pace, and all the little details - the greenhouse set within 7 acres of garden - that make it feel like a proper few hours away from everything.

I won’t deny they take a lot of preparation and work to put on, but it’s not just about that. It’s about giving people time to switch off, learn something new and enjoy being here.

That’s the bit that matters!

“A hen party in your greenhouse?

Honestly, not every hen wants to dance on tables. Some hen parties are slower, more considered… and involve flowers!

Yesterday’s group arrived to the greenhouse styled and set for afternoon tea - tables laid with my grandmother’s vintage crockery, spring flowers fresh from the garden throughout, music playing.

Afterwards, Prosecco on the lawn in the sunshine while we reset inside, topping up the bloom bar in place and ready to go.

Then a relaxed floral workshop - I showed them how to make a spiral hand-tied bouquet, and everyone chose from vases of tulips, ranunculus, daffodils, bluebells and fresh spring foliage to create something to take home.

It was easy, unhurried, and just a really lovely way to spend the afternoon together.
