Based in Reigate, Ruth Wi******er is a millefiori artist - an ancient method of manipulating clay and glass to create intricate kaleidoscopic patterns.

These pieces of clay (canes) are sliced and used to decorate tiles, wallpaper, and household items. DoodlePippin makes unique decorative and functional pieces of art and homeware, all based on the ancient millefiori technique.

You may not know that when I first started DoodlePippin in 2015, I mostly sold handmade, one-of-a-kind millefiori bangles, earrings and cheese knives like this.

DoodlePippin has come a long way since then, but it started with two very serendipitous discoveries - polymer clay, and millefiori.

Our fired ink tiles - really hardwearing - in a rich navy and white bold flower design that reminds me of the lovely blue and white tiles produced in the 1600s in Holland. Hence the Dutch Delft name.

The fired ink finish is perfect for anywhere you need a scratch-proof and heat-proof tile. eg/ hob splashbacks / near direct flame, floors (the non slip option is ideal for showers / pools), gardens, patios and conservatories, hearths, wood burning stoves and working fireplaces.
