🌈 Rainbow treasure hunt

This was when we had the lovely warm weather in half term. We got a lovely book in the library and have made a couple projects from it. A simple make for little hands that leads into a nature walk!

Loved making this bow! The brief was; a pink bow for a girls room. I had this pale pink in my stash and now it’s pride of place in her bedroom!

All packaged and sent in recycled materials too 💚

Totally inspired by to just crack on and get creative. We took everything outside in the sun and had a lovely half an hour. The green house was our gallery!

Took the same energy to just make the reel and not stress too much; so apologies for the sound and filming!

This make was a little bit different; usually I am all bows, scrunchies and banners. I was asked to create memory cushions using a lovely customer’s late mum’s clothing.

Last year I made 6 cushions, and I’ve now been trusted to make 2 more. Very grateful to be asked to make more of these.

Christmas in February!

Bows made from second hand fabrics, and made to last more than one Christmas.

These bows are made using my hair clip pattern. This customer clipped them onto a garland last year…and she’s already ordered more for next year, what a compliment! And also …. Organised or what?!

🛍️ Sustainable party bag alternative ♻️

Party bags are fun, but so much ends up broken or in the bin. So for my daughter’s birthday, we did things a little differently.

We found these mugs in a charity shop; friendship quotes, even a dancer one that was perfect for one of her friends.

A little dishwasher refresh, then we filled them with hot chocolate, a chocolate bar, a pen, some slime (this one I had to give into but it’s all about balance?!) and of course… a handmade Lou Makes scrunchie!

She finished each one with coloured string and their initials. Sustainable can still feel special 🥰

Been a bit quiet on here lately, but sometimes it goes like that doesn’t it. I’m here now and going to try to be more consistent (if I say it out loud maybe it will work?!)
 Two birthdays in our house last week, which meant two homemade birthday cakes. Not perfect, but made with the person in mind and a whole lot of love.

My mum always made our birthday cakes growing up, and now we’re carrying on the tradition. She even helped me with one of these, so now it’s something we do together 🥰 and she’s often called on for grandkids’ cakes!

And just to say, we will absolutely still be ordering from soon because we love your cakes and ours definitely aren’t as good (sorry mum! 😂)
