Hello November! 🍂🌸

The clocks have changed, the evenings are getting darker, and there's definitely a festive feeling starting to creep in! 🎄

This month I'm looking forward to gorgeous seasonal flowers, Christmas preparations and, of course, wreath-making season!

And with October coming to an end, I think I'm officially allowed to start getting VERY excited about wreath season now… right? 👀🎄🌿

🌸 TOP TIP THURSDAY 💐

Did you know flowers are rather clever little things?

Once cut and exposed to air, their stems can begin to develop blockages that restrict water uptake. This can happen surprisingly quickly, especially with roses!

So, when you receive a beautiful bunch of blooms, ALWAYS give the stems a fresh cut at a 45-degree angle before popping them into fresh water.

This helps your flowers drink more easily, keeping them hydrated and looking fabulous for longer!

And don’t forget, every time you change your vase water, give those stems another little trim.

A simple little trick that can make a BIG difference to the life of your flowers!

Back to work after a fabulous family holiday! ☀️🌸

Fresh flowers from Wholesale flowers, plants & sundries , a freshly painted workshop floor and a florist feeling (almost) refreshed ready for the busy season ahead!

Huge thanks to my wonderful parents who house-sat, dog-sat, puppy-sat AND gave the workshop floor a makeover, whilst I nursed a rotten head cold in the Mediterranean sunshine… medicinal cocktails in hand, of course! 🍹

Now, let’s get back to creating some floral magic! With a funeral going out today and preparing for rewind radio awards flowers!

Top tip Tuesday!
Let’s talk lilies!

So many people dislike lilies because of their pollen, but did you know it’s really easy to remove?

No snipping required! Simply gently pull the pollen-covered anthers away and discard them, just as I’m showing in the video!

Top florist tip: If you get lily pollen on your clothes, DON’T reach for the water! Use sticky tape to gently lift it away. Rubbing or wetting the pollen, crushing the powder, can make the staining worse!

And a little side note… flowers with visible pollen can be particularly troublesome for allergy sufferers, although they’re not the only culprits!

Lilies are a bit like marmite…. Love or hate??!!!
