This project was in a beautiful thatched cottage, so it was important to keep the traditional feel of the kitchen but also improve functionality and give it a fresh, light feel. The original space felt cluttered and dark (see original photos) and with a small space to play with it was challenging, but working with Mr and Mrs E, who had a clear idea of what they wanted to achieve, made it sucessful.
The builders blocked up an unused doorway making way for a simple galley kitchen, the In-fame wooden cabinets are handmade and hand painted in a soft cream and the large double bowl butler sink is both stunning and practical. The freestanding cupboard, painted in a sunny yellow colour, houses a large integrated fridge, drawers and larder. The finishing touches, painting the ceiling beams a lighter colour and adding an oak wooden floor, complete the traditional look.
