This big blue bowl is one of my favourites from a collection of new pieces that I’ve made over the last few weeks. The colour reminds me of holidays by the sea.

It’s coming with me to Kiln Ceramic Fair on 4-5 July (and you can also find it on my website).

I got a few pictures taken during the making process (trimming, turning the foot ring).

Cherries are also one of my favourite fruits. We had two large cherry trees in our garden when I was growing up in Budapest. My sister and I had fun climbing the highest branches to pick the cherries, and they were my first ever “earrings” too.

You can check out my new listings and also hope to see some of you in Derbyshire in 3 weeks’ time.

Just delivered a collection of “POP!” pots to for their shop’s summer display.

This is a new collection that I’ve been exploring over the past couple of months and the first time they’ll be shown together.
Thank you .123 for inviting me to show them and for always having faith in my latest work!

Satisfying to see the transformation after the glazes are applied.
I do love vibrant colours (obviously) and these vases and pots definitely give a summer vibe.

These will be part of a couple of gallery collections for the summer months.

Some process photos taken at the weekend of my decorating technique.

My ceramics are all about textures (and colours) to give you an extra sensory experience when you pick up the pots.

So I patiently imprint patterns and then add clay dots to the surface of my pots. It’s a slow meditative process after throwing them on the wheel.

The photos were taken by my girl during her far-too-short visit home.
You can also glimpse my Guatemalan kiln goddess on my studio wall. 😊

Thank you for the organisers, volunteers, visitors and fellow makers of for an enjoyable weekend.
The sun finally returned this afternoon with the crowds.
It was lovely to catch up with friends and returning customers and meet new ones.

I very much appreciated the strong cups of Yorkshire tea - brought by the lovely volunteers that kept me going.

I was happy to sell a few big blue bowls among other items. And it’s a Monday 😉.
I still love making the blue range but I don’t show them here very often as they’re hard to photograph.

I also might’ve treated myself to one of ‘s delights. I think I’m a magpie.

I’ll spend the next few weeks in my studio preparing work for a couple of gallery exhibitions.

Another new bowl with this eggshell (mottled green) matt glaze that reminds me of spring.

It gives a different vibe to the ones with the black outside glaze (see in my post a few days ago). It’s also a new addition to my website listings, and events.

Next event is on 3-4 May.

I found a new way of throwing and drying flat wide shapes.
Using a rolling pin to compress and flatten the centered clay is so much easier than opening out with my hands and body.
Drying flat (right way up) on a cement board results in even drying. So no cracks or warping (so far). Process is such an important part of ceramics (behind the scenes).

I’ve added a few new bowls to my website so check them out.

My next event is also fast approaching in 2 weeks time at Saltaire Arts Trail (find me at the Makers Fair in the beautiful Victoria Hall in Saltaire).
