Iāve had a flurry of new followers recently so I thought Iād introduce myself especially as I have two events coming up too.
Iāll be taking part in and Iāll be at Print Festival both on the 7/8th March - a busy weekend ahead!
Let me introduce myself below if youāre new to Bobbie Print or just want an insight -
Iām Victoria (often Vicki, sometimes Vic and occasionally even Bat but that last one is a long story š ) I quite frequently get Bobbie too, understandable but Bobbie was my mum, we shared a love of creativity so I named Bobbie Print after her.
Iām quite recently based in Saltaire, West Yorkshire having moved last year from West Sussex although originally Iām from Yorkshire so Iām back in my home county.
Iāve been a textile designer since 2004 which scarily means Iāve had a creative career for over 20 years - where did that go?!
After I left I worked in textile studios in Hertfordshire and Glasgow designing bedding, wallpaper and fabric. I worked for some high end companies and high street stores and really enjoyed the variety of projects and the opportunity to learn and improve as a designer.
I started Bobbie Print in 2016 as a hobby and it looked quite different then, much more screen print and much bigger scale but my style has evolved over time, my choice of print medium has changed
Almost all of my Bobbie Print cards and prints are risograph printed now which is a technique I came across while I was living in Glasgow and I still print with now. (Highly recommend them btw)
Iām first and foremost the designer behind Bobbie Print although as a small business owner I wear many hats (order packer, customer service, admin, marketing, accounts, coffee maker) and with each one I can usually find some element of satisfaction, Iām a creative person but actually I do love a spreadsheet š
I still work as a freelance textile designer too and I really enjoy both aspects of my work, Bobbie Print and textiles dovetail nicely together.
