I made this ATC today, with a gentle focus and a quiet mind, it was peaceful and felt very lovely.

We have a beautiful oak tree in the middle of Scalm on the edge of the golf course, it’s enormous, incredibly beautiful and must be many moons old. It meant a lot to dad and it means a lot to me and my family. It quietly stands guard over the farm and feels like an anchor.

I wanted to draw oak leaves today because to me they symbolise strength and the importance of deep roots and it helped me to feel connected, grounded and just a little bit better. Art has a wonderful way of evoking the characteristics of your subject matter. It can transform your experience, take you to another place, and amplify certain qualities you may want to be in touch with. Right now I’m holding onto strength.

It’s a privilege to be showing my work with these guys at the end of the month.

They’re all fab artisan makers and the community vibe is strong. I love being part of the Paper Panda & Friends Emporium.

It’s especially important at the moment as I have something positive and creative to focus on and work towards, steadily. 💖

Natalie from Appleyard Candles had a solid perfume stick in the last emporium and it has kept quietly popping into my head. I might just have to treat myself to it if it’s there this time, perfect for my ‘Mary Poppins’ rucksack.

I’m a bit all over the place at the moment with everything that’s happened in the past month and taking part in the summer market at the weekend.

I’ve been so lucky to be surrounded by beautiful caring people during this time, my lovely art club members, people who collect my work, other makers and artists, hairy hubby, family, friends and of course all of you lovely followers to my page. This is a shout out to you all for your kindness and having my back whilst I try to find my equilibrium. So grateful for you. 💖

Here’s a photo collage I made last night. I’m determined to find the people these drawings are destined for as I desperately want to make some more. There’s something really soothing and enchanting about them and I that’s exactly what I need right now.

It might be that I make some more anyway, just for me, but when you run your own business the little sales gremlin is always having a little babble in your ear. I would be super-duper happy if all the fairy lovers showed up to my page round about now.

I decided these bookmarks needed a layer of protection to make them more hard wearing so I have applied some waterproof adhesive vinyl. 🙌🙌🙌

I’ve used plain gloss on the front so you can see the artwork clearly and a pattern on the back with my signature and company info to make it a little more interesting.

These are all ready to be dropped off with a lovely lady in the village.

Now the question for the next batch is tassels or no tassels. To all avid readers out there what is your preference please? All ideas welcome. Would a beaded cord be nice?

I haven’t shouted about this as much as I ought to have. In all honesty I wasn’t sure I was going to make it but I’m on my way to set up shortly with the help of the hairy husband.

What a legend he is. (He’s actually not that hairy at the moment since having a trim for dad’s funeral).💖
