• 🛡️ Protection – floors, furniture, fixtures and fittings all need protecting
• ⏱️ Labour – a room that looks simple can take several days once preparation, drying times and multiple coats are taken into account
• 🧹 Final clean-up – leaving the space looking finished rather than simply "painted"
For example, a room might only take a few hours to physically roll the walls, but getting it to a genuinely professional finish can involve hours or even days of preparation beforehand.
That's why comparing decorators purely on the price of putting paint on the wall isn't always comparing like-for-like.
