Good morning all, yesterday I had the pleasure of flowering a wedding in the next door village. The brief was jewel colours, some sculptural arrangements and others with a Bridgerton vibe which could be moved from the church to the marquee. I met the couple a year ago so could grow flowers to fit their brief. It was so much fun. I can’t wait to share more photos but here are a few.

Good morning all, I’m back feeling refreshed after a week in Cornwall which is good as this weather is taking its toll on me and the flower field. The flowers in this weekends bunches (cosmos, tagetes, scabius, echinacea and wild carrot) are loving this weather but there are plenty that are not. I am definitely reassessing what I will be growing next year.

Still it’s a bit cooler today so I’d better get out into the field.

Have a lovely Friday x

A few weeks ago I ran my first Gather and Create a Vase Arrangement workshop. After a quick chat about what was looking good in the flower field and at what stage to cut the flowers the participants had the opportunity to wander the flower field and gather a bucket of flowers. Then after tea, coffee and cake they arranged them in their favourite vase. It was a really fun morning with lots of chat and laughter.

I’m running another Gather and Create a Vase arrangement on Friday 11th September from 10am to 12 noon. The field should be full of cosmos and dahlias and lots more.
Booking is on my website.

Or if you have a group of friends and would like to arrange your own workshop I some availability in September and October.

As always if you have any questions or queries please do get in touch.

Have a lovely Sunday x

What a week it’s been! The days have been long to avoid the heat. When delivering on Friday the outside temperature was 37.5°C!

As well making bunches and bouquets I also hosted an Open Garden meeting for the Chelmondiston Horticultural Society where members also had the opportunity to pick jam jars of flowers. It was a wonderful evening and I met so many new local people.

So for those of you who have only just started following me I grow and sell seasonal British flowers with the aim of offering the local community a more sustainable alternative to imported flowers. I supply flowers for every occasion on life’s journey – from birth to death and for all the moments in between. Simple bunches to say thank you, bouquets for celebrations, DIY buckets for those who like to arrange themselves and flexible options for wedding flowers. I also run workshops and PYO events. All details are on my website www.shotleyflowerfield.co.uk

Today marks the beginning of British Flowers Week 2026. Across the country there are flower farmers, like me, growing seasonal British flowers without chemicals and pesticides. We all do it slightly differently depending on our circumstances but you can be assured we all grow flowers full of movement, texture and scent that reflect the seasons.

This is a sample of what is growing in my field today. Over 40 different flowers and I just chose to cut the greens, whites, purples, blues and pinks.

So if you are not local to me please do check out flowersfromthefarm.co.uk to find your local grower. And if you are local to me, as well as running workshops and PYO events, I supply flowers for every stage of life—from welcoming a new arrival to saying a final farewell, and all the moments in between.

Happy British Flowers Week x
