✨ Another beautiful transformation, another happy customer ❤️ 🏡

What a transformation! This once plain hallway has been completely elevated with one of my favourite colours to work with — Farrow & Ball Elephant’s Breath.

This beautiful soft neutral is a true chameleon. Depending on the time of day and the natural light, it can appear beautifully warm and taupe-like in some spaces, then shift towards a soft, elegant grey in others. It creates such a calm, sophisticated and effortlessly timeless feel. 🤍

And just look at that staircase! 😍

The jet-black stained handrail paired with crisp white spindles creates the perfect modern-traditional contrast — classic enough to stand the test of time, but with a contemporary edge.

The white doors and trims, finished in beautiful Benjamin Moore paint, complete the look and keep everything feeling fresh, clean and beautifully balanced.

💡 When choosing a neutral, always test your colour in different areas of the room and look at it throughout the day. Natural light, artificial light and surrounding colours can completely change how a shade appears 🤍

💡 For hallways especially, don't be afraid to introduce contrast. A dark handrail, crisp woodwork and soft neutral walls can turn a functional staircase into a real design feature.

A beautiful, welcoming entrance makes such a difference to how a home feels — and this one is now full of character. ✨

Another happy customer / another beautiful project completed for Hills Contractors who have produced a truly stunning bathroom ⭐

We went for a crisp, clean white finish, which works beautifully against the warm pink-toned tiles and allows the gorgeous details of the room to really shine. 🤍🌸

🖌️ Use white walls to balance statement tiles— it keeps the room feeling fresh without competing with the tile colour.
🌿 Let your tiles be the feature — when you have a strong colour or pattern, keep the surrounding finishes simple.
✨ Mix textures rather than too many colours — the combination of glossy tiles, crisp paintwork and warm accessories creates a lovely layered look.
💡 Think about natural light — lighter walls help bounce daylight around a bathroom and make the space feel bigger and brighter.

✨ EXTERIOR TRANSFORMATION - SOLIHULL ✨

This one was a little different — an exterior project for a repeat customer, and what a transformation! 🏡🤍

There was plenty of preparation involved, including patching cracks, sealing new render with primer and getting every surface ready for a long-lasting finish. The result? A fresh, clean look that makes the whole house feel brand new.

🎨 Sandtex Smooth Masonry Paint was used for a durable, waterproof matt finish, with the plinths painted black to create that perfect contrast.

The fascias were taken from rustic-looking wood to beautifully finished features — primed, filled and painted using Gori Exterior Wood Paint, with the colour matched precisely to the front door. ✨

The customer is absolutely over the moon, and the house is now looking its best and ready for their son’s wedding in just a few weeks! 💍🥂

✨ A hallway that now feels as timeless as the home itself. 🤍

This hallway has had such a beautiful transformation. We swapped a cold, minty off-white for the warm, understated elegance of Farrow & Ball Shaded White, instantly creating a space that feels more inviting while still honouring the character of this period home.

Traditional coving and a ceiling rose was also added to bring this room back to it's full glory 🤍

Pairing it with a crisp white ceiling and woodwork keeps everything feeling fresh, while the dark oak stained handrail adds depth, contrast and a traditional finish that ties the whole staircase together perfectly.

Sometimes the biggest transformations come from choosing the right neutral.

🤍 Warm neutrals like Shaded White work beautifully in hallways, especially those with limited natural light. They soften the space and create a welcoming first impression without feeling yellow or dated.

🖤 Add one darker element—such as a stained handrail, front door or furniture—to ground the scheme and highlight original architectural features.

🎨 Keeping ceilings, picture rails and woodwork in a crisp white helps period details stand out while giving the space a clean, timeless finish.

It's projects like these that remind me why I love what I do. Creating homes that feel warm, elegant and built to last. ✨

✨ Bringing an old cottage back to life ✨

Some decorating jobs are about far more than just paint... they're about creating the perfect canvas first

This beautiful cottage had walls that had certainly seen better days. Years of wear, loose plaster and an old silk magnolia paint with a pink undertone left the walls looking tired, dated and difficult to work with. The sheen from the silk finish highlighted every imperfection.

The transformation started long before the paint came out:
✔️ Removing loose plaster
✔️ Extensive filling
✔️ Careful sanding for a smooth finish
✔️ Priming to create the perfect base

Once fully prepared, the walls were finished in Crown Trade Clean Extreme Matt, colour matched to Farrow & Ball New White.
Although it's called New White, it's actually a beautiful soft cream with gentle yellow undertones. It complements traditional cottages perfectly while still giving the home a fresh, modern feel. Choosing a matt finish softened the walls, hid imperfections and created a much more contemporary look than the previous silk paint ✨

This room took a lot more than just a coat of paint! The walls had been previously coated with a badly applied, chalky white emulsion, leaving a rough texture and an unstable surface.

Preparation is everything 👌

✔️ Thorough sanding to remove the rough finish
✔️ Sealed and stabilised using Zinsser Gardz to create a solid, sound base
✔️ Finished with Zinsser Perma-White Matt – perfect for high-moisture environments like bathrooms

The result? A beautifully smooth, crisp white finish that's hard-wearing, moisture resistant, and contains mould-resistant technology to help keep the room looking fresh for years to come.

🤍 When working with darker tiles and black fixtures, keeping the walls bright white creates contrast, reflects light around the room, and gives a clean, luxury hotel feel.

✨ This little bathroom transformation is proof that the right colour palette changes everything.

We used Farrow & Ball “Elephant’s Breath” — the perfect warm greige — to complement the beautiful traditional patterned tiles and create a timeless, sophisticated finish. Keeping the upper walls crisp white helped bounce light around the room while creating contrast against the neutral panelling for that clean, luxurious feel

Finished with a traditional high-level WC and classic basin… ultimate understated elegance 🖤

💡 If you have patterned flooring or statement tiles, keep your wall colours soft and muted to let the detail shine.
💡 Greige tones work beautifully in period homes because they soften stark whites while still feeling fresh and modern.
💡 Panelling instantly adds depth, character and a bespoke feel to even the smallest spaces.

From cold, drab grey stained walls to a calm, light-filled retreat ✨🎨

My customer was set on green, and together we chose the perfect shade — Farrow & Ball Mizzle. A beautifully soft grey-green that feels calming without overpowering the space.

This north-facing room now feels brighter, warmer and so much more inviting thanks to colour drenching the walls, ceiling and those angled architectural details.

💡 Painting the angled ceiling in the same tone helps blur harsh lines, opening up the space and making the room feel bigger, more cohesive and welcoming.

💡 For north-facing rooms, avoid cold flat greys. Soft greens with warmth and depth can create a calmer atmosphere while still reflecting light beautifully.

💡 Colour drenching also helps awkward ceilings and corners feel intentional and seamless.
