What a busy but quick week!
We have been enjoying lots of different play and focusing on our numeracy skills for national number day!
From counting nature items on our nature walk at Eastleigh lakeside country park, to learning about the numbers on the scales and matching to the baking recipe to make some yummy dairy free cheese scones for snack time, which of course to connect to our under the sea interest they had to be octopuses, mermaids and dolphin shaped!
This week we have had some amazing deeper meaning conversations from learning about how octopuses change colour to match their surroundings such as grey to match the rocks and coral, to talking about the sails boats on the water and how the kite high up with blowing in the wind to tell the sailors how to love their boats through the wind and even talking about why there was a man signing on the preschool learning video all about octopuses that we were exploring together.

And to end the half term, we celebrated one of our littles birthday! With jewellery making session and a party disco with disco lights, bubbles, scarves and danny go to end the day. ❤️
Hope you all have a fabulous half term! And see you all back on the 1st!!

What another fantastic week!
Over the last few weeks we have started to go back to basics, whilst still having fun out and about, like our trip to rhyme time at Eastleigh library and a play date at our friend Tina’s, we have been spending more time at base, practising those amazing early skills and next steps, from working on deeper communication skills, social skills including building stronger friendship bonds with each other, working on self confidence and being able to express our interests, needs and wants and feeling secure to do so.
It has been such a great learning experience for all. Role modelling to the children how we can build on what we already know, adding resources together to make new play, adding different interests to each other play to inspire other children, using our environment to the full and being able to find new ways of doing things!

This week the children have moved from insects and growing into volcanoes and dinosaurs, this came when a child told us “lava is from volcanoes” from there different children asked for different play, such as “can we play floor is lava”, “let’s do lava painting”, “there’s a fire emergency”
What a great exciting week!

Our week was inspired by one of ours talking about her home life, “We got some new flowers for the garden at home from the garden shop”
So this week we continued to explore more about the outside world and nature and now focusing on life cycles!
From visiting the garden centre and buying some new plants that attract bees and butterflies, to using the computer to order some new seeds to plant later in the week, which the children really enjoyed doing our first ‘Pot Gang’ growing box, super excited about the cucumelons!
This week we have also been developing our social skills with a play date with Tina the childminder and her gang, and we also visited Boorley park stay and play too.
We also took our second group of children to visit the farm to explore animal life cycles and visited the baby pigs and lambs and we learnt all the new words for what the baby’s are called such as ‘calf, lamb, piglet, squab, duckling, foals and gosling’ and practising makaton as we went too!
Back at base we did lots of activities to support their interest from sensory trays, scissor skills, mark making, planting, themed water and sand trays too!
