Something rather magical is happening at the cottage… 🎄🤭

We’ve been keeping a little festive secret, and we can finally share that our Christmas Collection is coming!

Think cosy winter mornings, festive treats, twinkling lights and all those wonderful scents that make Christmas feel like Christmas. 🕯️✨

🎄 Sunday 1st November at 10am! 🎄

We’ve been busy behind the scenes creating something really special, and we cannot wait to share it all with you!

Over the next few days, we’ll be revealing our Christmas scents, so keep your eyes peeled for a little festive magic! 🤭💚

Who’s ready for Christmas at the cottage?! 🎁

Today is a very special day at By The Pines because it's Sean's birthday!! 🥳💚

So I thought I'd take this opportunity to give a little appreciation to the man behind so much of what we do!

If you've ever enjoyed one of our candles, chances are Sean's very talented hands have been involved in making it. From pouring countless batches of candles to helping turn our little spare bedroom dream into what By The Pines is today, he puts so much love and care into everything he does. 🕯️

But beyond being an incredibly talented candle maker, he's also my wonderful husband, my best friend and the person I get to share this whole crazy adventure with.

Running a business together isn't always sunshine and rainbows (especially when we're both as stubborn as each other 🤣), but there's genuinely nobody else I'd rather be doing it all with.

I'm so incredibly proud of everything we've built together, but even prouder of the person you are.

So here's to you, Sean! Thank you for everything you do, for always making me laugh and for being the very best partner in both business and life.

Happy Birthday! I love you lots! 🥹💚

And if you fancy helping me embarrass him a little today, please join me in wishing him a very Happy Birthday!! 🤭🎂💚

A little moment of calm from our candle studio... 🎧💚

There's something so satisfying about the simplest sounds in the studio, and this is definitely one of our favourites!

The sound of fresh soy wax being poured, ready to become another batch of cosy candles for your homes. 🕯️

Sometimes it's the little things that make us happiest, and we could honestly listen to this all day! 🤭

Sound on and enjoy a few seconds of candle-making ASMR with us. 💚

A little cosy catch-up from the candle studio! 🍂💚

The Halloween decorations are finally up, the wax melters have been working overtime and we've been busy pouring lots of fresh batches of your favourite autumn scents! 🕯️

But amongst all the candle making, we've also been secretly working on something rather exciting behind the scenes... 👀

And yes, we know we haven't even made it through Halloween yet, but apparently we have absolutely no self-control when it comes to my favourite time of year! 🤣🤭

We'll be sharing more very soon, but for now, here's a little peek at what we've been up to!

Who's ready for a little surprise? 💚

Sometimes it's the ordinary moments that make us stop and think... how did we get here? 🥹💚

A few years ago, we'd be doing this surrounded by boxes in the spare bedroom of our flat. Maybe if we were lucky packing 10 orders a week....

Now we're standing in our own little candle studio, with a table full of candles waiting to make their way into your homes.

We probably don't stop to appreciate it enough when we're in the middle of a busy day, but every now and then we look around and think... we actually built this. 🥹

And we couldn't have done any of it without you.

Thank you for keeping our little candle studio so busy. 💚🌲

👻 THE GHOSTS HAVE ARRIVED AT THE COTTAGE!! 🌿

After a few rather suspicious happenings, creaking floorboards and things going bump in the night, we're delighted to announce that our October Scent of the Month, A Ghost at the Cottage, is officially LIVE!! 🕯️

But this one comes with a little secret…

Hidden inside every candle and box of wax melts is one of FOUR little cottage spirits, each with their own personality and special ability.

🌙 Moonlight Ghost — Keeper of Calm
🌿 Garden Ghost — Grower of Good Things
🔥 Hearth Ghost — Keeper of the Flame
✨ Dreaming Ghost — Weaver of Dreams

As your wax begins to melt, a hidden colour will slowly reveal which little ghost has decided to follow you home.

Every candle and pack of wax melts also comes with its very own illustrated Ghost Guide, so you can get to know your newest (and hopefully well-behaved) little resident. 🤭

And the fragrance? Think warm vanilla, tonka bean, soft cocoa, to***co flower and aged woods. Like wandering through an old cottage long after everyone has gone to bed…

It seems our four little cottage residents have been keeping a rather big secret… 👻✨

Hidden inside every A Ghost at the Cottage candle and wax melts is one of four secret colours, patiently waiting to reveal which little spirit has chosen your home.

But you'll have to let the wax melt to find out who… 👀

And what does our little haunted cottage smell like?

Think warm vanilla, comforting tonka bean, soft cocoa, to***co leaf and aged woods. Like stepping inside an old cottage long after everyone has gone to bed…

Although, we're not entirely convinced everyone has. 🤭

A slightly emotional day at the candle studio today... 🥹💚

After being with us since the very beginning, it's finally time to say goodbye to our trusty old wax melter.

This little machine has been through it ALL with us, from our spare bedroom beginnings to moving into our very own studio, and has helped us hand-pour thousands of candles along the way.

But as our little business continues to grow, it was time to welcome a rather exciting upgrade! 🤭🕯️

It might just look like a new piece of equipment, but to us, it's another little milestone in a journey we still can't quite believe we're on.

Here's to the next chapter (and hopefully a lot less waiting around for wax to melt 🤣).

Thank you for helping us grow, one candle at a time. 🌲💚
