Nursery Wallpaper Reveal 🌙🐎🩷✨💭

Ad The second I saw this dreamy horsey number from I knew it was the one for our little girls nursery. Even before I met her. 🫶 Soft, whimsy, magical… in a palette that felt like perfection to me. 😮‍💨

I was slightly nervous about adding wallpaper alongside all the pink woodwork, but instead of overwhelming the space, it’s softened everything beautifully and tied the whole room together.

And the oversized design has my heart. This is a custom mural rather than a standard wallpaper, so the design team at Belarte Studio adjust the pattern to fit your space. And as I have a particularly tall wall in the mix, the horses ended up much larger in scale than the original design — and I am SO here for it. ✨🫶

I genuinely can’t believe this is the same room we started with 🥲. It feels like something straight out of a storybook, and I hope Summer loves it as much as I do. 🩷

The bit no one mentions in IVAR hacks…

THE GAPS! 🫢

Ad. Partially gifted collaboration 🤍

Before starting this IVAR hack, I (of course) watched a few tutorials to sanity-check my idea. Most hacks focus on the standalone unit without uprights — so there’s no gap to deal with. But the ones I did find that included uprights didn’t really mention the open voids you’re left with unless you add a top. From what I could see… they were just left.

And with the bottom sealed, that felt like inviting dust and mystery objects to live there forever 🫠

So I had two options:
〰️DIY it myself (bold of me to even consider)
〰️Have custom tops cut exactly to my measurements and call it self-care 🤎

So, I chose self-care and reached out to .uk to explain what I wanted to do and they were great at helping configure the awkward shape I needed with their online tool. The oak-veneered MDF boards* were cut to my specs and made the whole process so much easier.

If you’re doing something similar and want to copy the idea, I’m very happy to share my exact configuration so the tops slot in perfectly.

Be honest — could you have lived with these gaps, or would you have covered them too? 👀

*I also purchased a matching desk at full price to tie everything in.
