Update on our recent stonemasonry job!

We have now completed the stonework wall for our customer. This wall went from having crumbling roughcast to shiny new roughcast, built up step by step to ensure it lasts as long as possible. Head back to a recent post of ours to see what it was like during the first stages of the process. Thankfully Ally had good weather to get the job done.

The guys tackled a massive job last week where they removed an old inglenook fireplace, knocked right through to the other side and after inserting a new lintel, installed a tunnel stove.

The Dik Geurts Prostyle tunnel stove is a beautiful large stove and works perfectly in this location. We hope the new owners enjoy using it when the weather is chilly and cosiness it desired.

Has the spring weather allowed your wood burner to take a well earned break? It's time to give it a clean and get it ready for the winter (or cold summers day!).

We are advocates for just dipping damp newspaper, kitchen roll, or a cloth into ash and using it as an effective way to clean the glass as per the video. But if you like a quick easy fuss free product or if you use coal as fuel, we have popped some products below for you to check out.

Please only clean your stove 24 hours after it was left to die down to make sure it is cool.

This is also a great time to get your chimney sweep booked so you know your wood burner is ready to go when you next need it fired up.

Have a small space and not sure if you can get a wood burner in?

Our engineers can take measurements at the point of survey which allows us to see what will fit! In many cases an inset stove is the best stove style to go for but if you have your heart set on an inglenook fireplace, it may still be an option.

There are many great small and mighty stoves out there which can also be budget friendly and suitable for small rooms including cabins, boats and other small areas.

Individually pictured are:

A Charnwood County 3 (Charnwood Stoves ) - small but mighty wood only stove with a classic look to it. Colour options available.

Salamander Hobbit ( Salamander) - so small it can fit into many older fireplaces but can still heat up the room. Multifuel and also customisable colour.

Morso Squirrel 1412 or 1010 model (Morsø) - Multifuel small size stove that will heat a room and look smart doing it.
