There’s something about changing the scent in your home that makes the new season feel real. Slower evenings, softer light, cosy corners and a fragrance that wraps around you like a warm blanket.

The light changes first. 🍂

You notice it before anything else. Golden hour arrives an hour earlier. Shadows stretch longer across the kitchen table.

That’s when it starts. The pull toward soft blankets and low lamps. Toward staying in instead of going out.

Autumn doesn’t ask permission. It just arrives — in the smell of woodsmoke, in the first cold morning, in the sudden urge to light every candle in the house. 🕯️

Here’s what I’ve learned about creating that feeling on purpose:

Layer your light. One candle is nice. Three candles at different heights is atmosphere. ✨

Scent sets the pace. A room smells calm before it looks calm. Choose fragrances that feel like slowing down — amber, spice, something with depth.

Texture matters more than you think. Knit throws. Worn wood. Nothing too polished. Autumn interiors should feel lived-in, not staged.

Small rituals beat big gestures. Lighting a candle before you sit down. Making tea in the same mug. These tiny repeated moments are what “cosy” actually is. 🍵

This season, I wanted to bottle that shift — the exact moment a house stops feeling like summer and starts feeling like home.

Every candle in the new collection was made with that in mind. Not just a scent. A feeling you can strike a match to. 🔥

Cosy isn’t a trend. It’s a season doing what it does best. 🧡

I’m sorry to say that I’ve made the decision to pull out of my event at on Saturday due to the predicted winds and rain. Ultimately I don’t think my gazebo will stand up to it and I run the risk of damage to stock and display. As a small business I’ve had to take this uncomfortable decision.

The show will absolutely still be going ahead so please do still attend and support the event if you were planning on going. I grew up in Hawkesbury Upton and it was always a great annual event.

I will still be headed to The Suffolks Cheltenham on Sunday so hope to see you there xx

One day, all mine. 🧡

While the family stayed poolside, I hopped a coach to Seville — just me, my curiosity, and zero pressure to be anywhere or please anyone.

Turns out that’s the trick to a holiday that actually works for everyone. They got their lounging. I got my wandering, my history, my “let’s just see where this street goes.” No resentment. No dragging anyone round a cathedral they didn’t ask for. Everyone was happier.

Some holidays aren’t about ticking off sights or filling every hour — they’re about finding the quiet. 🌿

This trip was exactly that. No rush, no overwhelm, no meltdown triggers waiting round every corner. Just slow mornings, familiar routines, and watching my girl feel truly at ease in a space that finally made sense for her.

Peace looks different when you’re parenting a child with additional needs. It’s not silence — it’s the absence of anxiety. It’s watching them regulate, explore, and just be, without a countdown to the next struggle.

We’ve found that this week. And I’m holding onto it.

A beautiful day at Hollyhock Markets, Elkstone Studios ☀️🌿

The sunshine, the setting, the people — honestly couldn’t have asked for more. So lovely meeting so many new faces, chatting with visitors and fellow makers, and sharing a little bit of Serenity Velvet with you all.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the stall today, and an extra special thank you to everyone who took a piece home with them 🤍 I really hope you love your purchases as much as I loved making them.
