We love it when couples share their photos of our flowers for their big day. This beautiful wedding was at The Mill Barns Exclusive Use No Corkage Countryside Wedding Venue & Rooms and the couple chose a gorgeous Spring colour pallet. Instead of an arch they chose our plinths topped of with Urns, meadow boxes and low bowls. This installation is softer and more fluid than an arch. More airy and natural. We completed the set up with bud vases for the tables and in other areas of tbis beautiful venue. If you're getting married and feel a bit lost when it comes to flowers please get in touch. We can guide and advise. Help bring your vision to life. And the added bonus... the fragrance fresh flowers bring to your wedding. We wished we could share that here. It was heavenly.

Pretty wedding set up at Bridal Barn part two. We never get tired of this! From choosing the flowers, collecting the very special local ones, conditioning them so they behave , even in this heat, arranging them and then placing them perfectly in a gorgeous venue.
The smell was amazing. English roses adding a super romantic touch along with sweet peas. Heavenly.
Creating a pretty tablescape so it flows so effortlessly is not a happy accident. There were over 100 bud vases in this set up. We think it works a treat.

These two gorgeous Milk Churns were just two of the arrangements we created yesterday for a stunning wedding at Bridal Barn. We give thanks every day for our studio which stays wonderfully cool even in a heat wave. The shop not so much.
We have plenty of flowers, they are just keeping cool in the studio.
Weddings also means we sometimes open a little later, apologies for this. We hope we didnt disappoint anyone yesterday morning.
We have weddings Thurs, Fri & Sat this week which is amazing and joyful.

Hanging baskets have arrived! Expertly made by a local nursery. We are proud to be able to offer these again this year. They come in various sizes and in a choice of mossed or wicker baskets.
We are selling these on behalf on Prestwood Cave Nursery. Refills are also available if you still have last years baskets.

"I just wanted to say thank you so much for the gorgeous flowers for my mums birthday! They are absolutely beautiful - she was given another bunch by someone else (from a supermarket shop) and when looking at them together yours are on another level- so beautiful."

And this, lovely humans, makes it all worth while!

We can't compete with Supermarkets on price. We absolutely can on design, quality, presentation and care.

Our flowers are carefully selected, are A grade quality, not flown in from the Southern Hemisphere (the reasons why are a plenty and a whole other post). They are carefully conditioned and cared for and actually loved.

We don't bodge them into oasis (again so many reasons not to use the toxic stuff) and each bouquet whether large or small is skillfully arranged by our own hands and hand tied so it can go straight in a vase.

If you were looking for reasons to support a local florist... here are a couple. Imagine a High Street without a flower shop...(or a baker, butcher, gift shop, green grocer and more).

Please support local, the big boys are making quite enough.

Our newest recruit! Well, just for this week. My little sister has joined us on work experience this week. Some might think "that will be an easy week for her" but not at all. This week she has prepped and conditioned flowers, learned how to make jam jar posies, learned the names of flowers, served customers, dusted the shop (this involves taking everything off shelves, dusting and then putting everything back!) She's cleaned and filled buckets (we move a lot of water in a week). Flattened cardboard for recycling. Organised the stock room. Come along on deliveries. Answered phones calls. Today she will help with our subscription orders and dried flower orders. Tomorrow a huge delivery of new stock arrives and will need to be checked in, added to the till inventory and displayed. We think we've given her an insight into how running a shop is varied and also hard work. Its not just about manning a till. And the best part. The 3 of us have been able to hang out together.

It's Peony season! Tomorrow (Thursday) these beauties are arriving from Cornwall. Grown in Penzance by expert flower farmers. We have two varieties arriving, Gardinia and Corel Charm.
Our flower farmers face many challenges and we are proud to support them whenever we can. We know you like to too.
These will not be the cheapest Peony around but they will be some of the best. As we keep saying, you get what you pay for and quality always beats cheap.

Last night we held our first Brushes & Blooms workshop with the very lovely Jessie Bayliss. Nestled in our little flowery world we all had a magical evening. Huge thanks to Jessie for her talent and Gil's for the amazing sharing platter.
