One thing I often hear at markets is some variation of “Your notebooks are beautiful, but I wouldn’t want to write in it because it’s too nice.”
I get it. I hate the idea of “ruining” a beautiful notebook too. But the thing I dislike more is waste, and isn’t it a bit of a waste having beautiful things and not using them?
I’m not sure where the idea of ‘waiting to enjoy the things that you have’ came from. I’ve definitely been guilty of it in the past, but recently I’ve been coming to the conclusion that your own life is a good enough reason to enjoy the beautiful things.
Couldn’t we all do with our lives being a little brighter? Wouldn’t the big shop at the supermarket be a little better if you wrote down your shopping list in a notebook with a fun cover? Wouldn’t the meeting at work be slightly more bearable if you took notes in a journal that made you smile every time you saw it?
So take this as your permission to use the beautiful things. Hang the art, light the candle, wear the jewellery, write in the notebook. And if that nice notebook happens to be a KB & Co Designs one, then thank you very much for your support!
