Mumby Design Hello! I'm a Central St. Martins graduate, a designer & tutor. Painter of wooden Happy Hearts! I graduated from Central Saint Martin's in the late 90's. Mumby x

For 20+ years I have been a freelance textile designer & visiting tutor in various colleges & alternative education venues, teaching Art/Design/Craft courses. In the last decade the need for hand painted print design has sadly been outwitted by the use of computer aided design. I tried my hand at CAD but hand painting is where my passion lay, so I retired from the profession and focused on motherhood & teaching part time. Where Mumby Design began...

During lockdown 2020 my freelance teaching came to a halt. My need to be creative resurfaced & I wanted to do a little project to bring joy to the local community. With my sidekick (my boy), I hand painted 'Happy Hearts' & hid them in the local area. I asked people to upload a photo to my FB page & to re-hide, to share the joy. From there, I had requests to hand paint custom paintings; anything from portraits to rainbows! At nearly 3 years on & I've barely put the paint brushes down since!

This is the only photo I have of our beautiful Lady. As a puppy, she could sit in the palm of my 5 year old hand. It was my first real understanding of grief when she left us, I was 18.
