The Tewkesbury Dog Show at Gupshill Manor WILL proceed on Sunday 28th June , however given the current weather situation, which is likely to cool down but also become changeable, I have made the decision not to attend with my stall. Cancelling attendance at an event is not a decision taken lightly but believe it to be the correct decision.
I wish everyone every success at the event and my next event is now Stanway Fete on 11th July.

This is vintage oriental possibly Japanese Christmas card. Roughly A4 size when open but actually folded into four and producing a card approximately A6. It depicts a Japanese scenic view surrounded by an oval Bamboo print and the words “Happy Christmas” in an oriental typeface. The inside left depicts an oriental fishing with a western person also fishing but not having much luck, his catch being eaten by a larger fish. Hence why this card is believed to be attributed to military personnel serving in the region. Under the picture it is written to Sidney Edwards, Wishing them all the very best.

On the Inner right side is a rhyming verse also in oriental typeface. The card measures 13.5cm x 9.8cm. It is believed to be printed using a woodblock technique and maybe in the style of Hiroshige or Hokusai.

This is a rare vintage Christmas card in the Art Deco Style of the artist Erte (Romain de Tirtoff). Erte used to incorporate elegant figures into geometric shapes or letters. This one is clearly a question mark. The card is beautifully embossed along the front right edge, with the words “A Kind Thought” shown on the inner flap. On opening the central panel of the three indicates “Merry Christmas” and a pleasing verse of friendship. The card is then handwritten “With very Best Wishes From Gladys”.

Our next event in the community is to be the Tewkesbury Dog Show at Gupshill. However this is subject to the weather given how hot it is likely to be. We are all watching the weather and will advise later in the week once we know more.
