I love pieces of sea worn pottery, these I found the other day.
Coming from near the Potteries Stoke on Trent, my mums family is from there, one of my 1st jobs ( YTS - alongside Alton Towers) was at Carlton Ware in Stoke, where I was being trained on shading flowers etc.
finding a piece with a tiny piece of pattern on makes you wonder what the whole piece dish/plate etc looked like, a bit like each of us - we are a tiny piece in a much bigger picture 🥰
Ive found a few more tiny pieces of the pinkie one, same place at Port Issac, & trust they all came from the same piece, lol or a fisherman’s wife having a iffy fit threw her mother in laws gift of her china to her into the harbour, & there are many pieces in there, or the fisherman who went & stayed for one extra pint at the Golden Lion , arrived home to find his dinner including the plate didn’t go to the dog, it got chucked plate & all into the harbour sea at full tide ……,. Who knows
But I love finding them …. Patterns of the Past 🙏🤩
