A few weeks ago, on a lovely summer evening, my husband visited the flower farm to take some photos of me in my happy place whilst I prepared for my flower stall. The dahlias were just getting going, it’s amazing I had any flowers then as we’d been so long without rain! What a strange summer and growing season 2026 has been but I do love dahlia season!

It’s that time of year when everything is so busy that posting on social media falls off your list! So here’s a little update on my favourite flower to grow, the dahlia. They are looking great at the moment and bring me so much joy. Swipe to see the later planted dahlias and cuttings. They’re taking their time but who can blame them in this hot and dry weather.

A very hot day out at and yesterday. Flower and plant heaven! I really liked the Parkinsons garden, the lady garden and the Gaia statue. Was also great to see stand in the floral pavilion shining a light on British grown flowers. I was too exhausted to see all of Chelsea in Bloom but the astronaut was amazing!

The dahlias are on their way to get planted out, they did so well for me last season. I’ve also got some exciting new colours this year I can’t wait to show you!
