Yesterday was Dylan Thomas day! Here is my pencil drawing, illustrating this scene in his ‘Play for Voices’ - “Under Milk Wood”.

“SECOND VOICE: The afternoon buzzes like lazy bees round the flowers round Mae Rose Cottage. Nearly asleep in the field of nannygoats who hum and gently butt the sun, she blows love on a puffball.

MAE ROSE COTTAGE (Lazily): He loves me He loves me not He loves me He loves me not He loves me!—the dirty old fool.

SECOND VOICE: Lazy she lies alone in clover and sweet-grass, seventeen and never been sweet in the grass ho ho.”

"In the Fluid Place".
I so enjoyed having a few hours to become absorbed in drawing, earlier this week - and of course it had to be a hare!
Soft pastels and coloured pencils on A3 sized, moss coloured paper.

Many thanks to Sue Cross for inspiring me with her photographs of hares, which I used for reference.

(I was listening to the amazing new Gorillaz album non-stop while drawing this, hence the music!)

“Flowing from a sacred place”, in pencil & soft pastel.
I first drew a version of this in oil pastel many years ago. I've come back to it in monochrome sketch form today, but will also be creating a new piece in colour - in soft pastels and coloured pencils.
The place holds a lot of meaning for me.
The fish are red and appeared in a powerful dream.

I’m delighted to say that the fabulous Wild Bush in Teddington is now stocking lots of my illustration work!
You can find my Lunar Cat bags, greeting cards, wrapping paper, ceramic ornaments and a few Giclee prints (framed and unframed) there!
It is a wonderful shop selling lots of fun things for dogs, cats and humans, and it is also a Dog Groomers!
