A natural herringbone floor taking shape 🤎

This one is a beautiful V4 wood floor, supplied by us and fitted by one of our expert installation teams.

From gluing up to carefully placing each row, it’s always satisfying seeing the herringbone pattern start to come together.

Natural timber, a classic pattern and a floor that’s going to look even better as the room comes to life.

We did it! 🥾⛰️

Team Woven & Woods completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks in 10 hours and were super pleased, so here are some more images to mark the occasion!

It was cold, wet and pretty miserable at times, but the views, the laughs and getting to the end made every soggy step worth it. A brilliant team experience and one we’re all very proud to have achieved together.

Even better, we did it while raising money for Habitats & Heritage a charity whose work to protect and connect people with local nature and heritage is something we’re really happy to support.

One home, one oak floor, two laying patterns.

Husk runs throughout the ground floor of this home, with herringbone in the front room and plank continuing through the rest of the house, including the kitchen.

Using the same colour throughout keeps everything connected, while the change in laying pattern gives the front room its own character.

A rare appearance from behind the camera!

Firstly, a huge thank you to all of our lovely clients who have welcomed me, camera in hand, into their homes to shoot their projects. So much of what you see on here wouldn’t be possible without you!

There’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes too, from documenting installations and new collections, to events, collaborations, our Richmond & Twickenham community and sharing our knowledge of flooring and interiors.

So to have all of that recognised with Best Social Media at the National Flooring Awards means a huge amount.

We’ve always wanted our social channels to show more than the floor we sell. It’s a window into the world around Woven & Woods - the people we work with, the homes we work in, the brands we love, the knowledge behind our products and the community we’re lucky to be part of.

For a flooring company, we take a slightly different approach. We’re not just trying to show you another floor. We want to show you why it works, where it comes from, how it’s installed, who’s behind it and how it can become part of a wider interior.

We’ve had a brilliant couple of mornings with Parquets Panaget

We’ve loved welcoming Jeanne and Alex from Panaget to both our Richmond and Twickenham showrooms this week, for two mornings of insight into what goes into making a really well made oak floor.

From Panaget’s rich history and French oak sourcing, to their environmental credentials, wood grades, finishes and the technical details behind each product, Jeanne and Alex gave our designers and clients a fascinating look at the thinking and craftsmanship that sits behind the floors.

And, of course, there was plenty of opportunity to get hands on with the samples, compare finishes and ask questions over coffee and croissants. 🥐 ☕️

A huge thank you to the Panaget team for travelling over from France to spend the mornings with us - it was a pleasure to host you. 🇫🇷

A little change to our showroom hours this week as the team head off to the National Flooring Awards, and complete the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge!

Both our Richmond and Twickenham showrooms will close at 4pm on Thursday and remain closed Friday and Saturday. We’re closed as normal on Sunday, before reopening at 10am on Monday.

We’re looking forward to a few days exploring Yorkshire, meeting up with other people in the industry, and swapping showroom shoes for walking boots! 🥾

A stair runner doesn’t start on the stairs. There’s a fair bit of planning that happens before it gets there.

For this type of taped stair runner, the client first chooses a carpet that often comes in a 4 or 5 metre widths. From there, our team measures the staircase and works out exactly how much carpet is needed, carefully planning and templating the pieces so they can be cut to suit the individual stairs.

Once the carpet has been cut, the sections are sent off to be taped. And that’s the part you’re seeing here, our team carefully packing up the cut carpet, ready for it to be sent away.

Once the taping is complete, it comes back ready for the final stage: our installer takes the finished pieces to site and fits the runner to the stairs.

It’s a process with plenty of measuring, planning and preparation behind what can look like a relatively simple finished stair runner. And getting those early stages right makes all the difference to the final fit.

This September, Team Woven & Woods is taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge. Team building and an opportunity to raise some money for Habitats & Heritage, a local charity based in Twickenham.

Habitats & Heritage works across south and west London to protect and restore our natural and historic environment, from supporting local green spaces and wildlife to helping communities create a more sustainable future.

It’s a cause that feels right for us. We care about the places we live and work in, the materials we use and the environments around us, so we’re proud to be putting our team to the test for a charity doing great work right on our doorstep.
