I’ve love the clean, sophisticated look of a monochrome room, but every "quiet" space needs a "loud" moment. I picked these drawers up for a good price second hand, just loved the shape and 'Beauty and the Beast' vibe. I've had them in my collection for a while, waiting for the right time — this was that moment.

Instead of a standard restoration, I treated the wood like a canvas. By using aging techniques with different tones of chalk paint and decoupage , this piece went from "dated storage" to the "soul of the room."

Do you have a piece of furniture that adds that element of surprise a room?

At The Style Edit. ✨ We believe true style isn't just 'bought off the shelf'—it's curated, restored, and designed with purpose.

Very much enjoyed the restoration and redesign of this vintage console. She definitely stands proud and elegant now. A gorgeous piece to add to our home staging inventory.

Romeo and I foraging on our morning walk 🤭
Came across hedge cuttings on the canal side this morning. Such a beautiful colour I couldn’t walk past and leave them! So I gathered them up and we took them on our way 🤣

🍁10 minute seasonal swap! Refresh your room for Autumn.... its time for that cosy vibe 🍁
Making some seasonal changes around the home, today its our dining space. . .
Adding seasonal decor, Autumnal colours, warm textures and cosy lighting creates that snug atmosphere 🍂

🍂Tis the season to get cosy🍂
Lighting is the trick to set mood, warmth and ambience to your room. An easy way to do this is by adding lamps and candles.
Heres how I made this cordless lamp from my charity shop treasures.
I saw this gorgeous embossed urn type vase in the window and just couldn't walk past and leave it! It had a good sized neck so I knew it would work as a lamp base or be beautiful with blooms. It was a steel at £3.95 and when I looked at the retailer it had a price tag of £24.99, nice find!
I found the lamp stand for £3.50 which was tall enough to fit the shade above the neck of the vase. After sanitising both items I cut the cord off the stand. Found this neutral linen look lamp shade at B&M Homestore for £10.00 which matched perfectly with my interior, so I can move it from room to room.
I popped a rechargeable bulb in the lamp stand, this comes with a remote with different settings for warm or cool lighting a dimmer switch and timer. Popped it all together and heres the result. . .

Just back from taking the dog on a walk, loving the colours of the season. Pottered in the garden and cut some stems for the home.
Fresh cut blooms are so uplifting 🤎
Happy Thursday xx

🍁The secret to inexpensive seasonal updates 🍁

My favorite pastime is hunting for gems in charity shops—it's how I update my home and reflect seasonal changes without a hefty price tag or compromising my commitment to sustainability.
Every piece has a story, and rescuing it gives it a second life. Think about it: a beautiful vintage vase for your spring blooms, or a set of cozy woolen throws for autumn found for a fraction of the cost. Items can be easily washed and sanitized and usually look as good as new.
Next time you need a decor refresh, skip the big store!

Look out for the updates on what I did with this bag of goodies.
So what's the best charity shop gem you've ever found for your home? Share a picture or tell me about it in the comments, I'd love to hear. Let's inspire a sustainable interior movement. 👇
