Rodney, I can’t tell you how much you’re going to be missed. You’ve been with me for more than a third of my life, and you made me smile every day.
You were part of the package when I met Em, and she wasn’t a fan to begin with, but soon grew to love you as much as I did.
From being the age of 3/4 I always loved reptiles, it started when my mum used to take me to the pet store to see Rodney the iguana, but refused to let me have one until I moved out, as soon as I did I rescued you from a home that wasn’t taking good enough care of you, and you’ve been a huge part of the family ever since.
There’s a big dragon sized hole which will never be replaced, rest in piece little man - we all love you (even mum)

As some of you may have seen I’ve been training for my first ever ultra marathon. I’ve done a couple of marathons in the past but this is a different beast. But I’m doing it for a reason: to raise money for an incredible charity called Nightingale House Hospice, who care for people who are in end-of-life care.

For anyone who’s been alongside some who’s been diagnosed with a terminal illness, they will know how difficult this job really is. I couldn’t imagine the pain and the emotions each member of staff goes through on a day-to-day basis - knowing that the person you’re caring for has no cure, and there’s nothing that you can do to change this - apart from make their last living time as comfortable and as pleasant as it can be. But their work doesn’t stop with just the patient, it’s also the support they provide the families with who are experiencing one of the most heartbreaking things any family can go through.

To help their mission, on the 11th September I’ll be running from Leek town centre all the way to Chester (approx. 40 miles). Anything that you can donate will go such a long way for the Nightingale’s cause.

I’ll admit the training’s been tough. I’ve been trying to juggle:
- working an intense full-time job
- filming Antiques Roadshow at the weekend
- currently buying a new house with my wonderful wife Emma Broad
- and beginning to film the Travelling Auctioneers again next week

It’s been a lot of 3am starts to try and get the legs used to this kind of mileage but I’m really hoping, with the amount we raise, it will be so worth it.

I’ve posted a link to the Just Giving page in the comments 👇 and anything you can give will be massively appreciated. I’ll be starting the run at 9am at Whittaker & Biggs Leek on the 11th of September, and I’ll be finishing at our Chester office Rostons UK so if you’re around, support would be appreciated and go such a long way.

I will be posting the official confirmed route ASAP, as the original route may change slightly as my caring boss Tony Rimmer is worried about my safety, and he will likely be following me on his bike (legend) We will have hydration stops along the way too, the wonderful Clare McLaren is helping organise everything and doing an amazing job ❤️

Thank you all so much, please share to as many people as possible - lots of love, JB xx

Another brilliant day filming for the Roadshow, and what an experience, filming in a 13th century castle 🤯

People often ask what it’s actually like filming antiquesroadshow and honestly, it’s hard to put into words, but what I can say for sure is, I am so lucky to work alongside some of the most incredible people in the industry - both on and off screen.

Within minutes of the iconic Antiques Roadshows theme tune being played, a complete stranger hands you something that’s been sitting in their family for generations, a medal, a vase, a toy or a painting nobody quite knew the story of - it can literally be anything. Sometimes it’s worth nothing, sometimes it stops you in your tracks. Either way, there’s always a story attached, and that’s the bit I love most.
Every single item that comes across the table has a life before it reaches us, and it’s a privilege to be the one who gets to hear it.

This is my third year with the AR team, but this event was even more special, as my wife Emma Broad got to come and watch me for the day! 😍

Bidding Room series 8 is out NOW, and we started with something pretty damn special!
If you missed it live, you can catch up on I Player, and if you want to binge watch the whole series in one, you can do this too! 😂
A lot of work goes into making this show, the crew are exceptional and without them, there would be no show, so big shout out to them!
It goes without mentioning the amazing cast too, im very lucky to work with some of the nicest and fun people in the business!
Enjoy the series, spread the word, hopefully it won’t be long before we’re in the lovely Edinburgh filming again for the next lot!

What an absolutely unforgettable day at Souter Lighthouse for the Antiques Roadshow!
The coastal views were fantastic, but the treasures (and stories!) people brought along were even better.
From fascinating historical pieces to some brilliantly quirky finds, it was a non-stop day of surprises.
Of course, being in the area, we couldn’t resist a quick detour to see the iconic Angel of the North and pop into the military museum! 👌
Thank you to everyone who came down and shared their history with us.
Next stop: Caerphilly Castle on the 18th of July! See you there! 🏰👋

I am absolutely thrilled to share that I have officially been invited back onto the BBC’s iconic Antiques Roadshow for the upcoming season.

To say I’m proud is an understatement. This show means the world to me, and honestly, I know my nanna would be absolutely over the moon and super proud looking down. ❤️
