Top Drawer
I took a bit of a risk with my stand. Rather than creating a traditional trade show display, I wanted to make something that felt much more like stepping into my studio, like a little glimpse into the world behind the work, rather than simply a collection of finished pieces.

It felt important to me that people could get a sense of what I’m about as an artist; the heritage, the stories, the places, the tiny unnoticeable little details that find their way into what I make. I wanted the stand to feel like an extension of that world.

And I had the most wonderful few days.

I met so many lovely buyers, shop owners and curators from beautiful independent shops, boutiques, galleries and department stores, and had endless conversations about the work, where it comes from and all the stories tucked in behind it.

There was something rather lovely about watching people wander into my little corner of the show, have a look around, pick things up, ask questions and slowly discover the world I’ve been building.

I came home feeling incredibly grateful and rather happy that I’d trusted my instinct to make the stand feel completely, unapologetically me.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by and spent a little time in my world.

I like to have my inspiration all around me, paintings, sketches, scraps of colour, patterns, photographs, little bits of history and things I’ve collected along the way (often bones, teeth, feathers).

At any point, I can look up from my desk and find something that catches my eye. A particular blue (of course). A pattern I’d forgotten about. A photo that makes me want to pick up a pencil and start drawing.

I think inspiration is often less about going looking for one great idea, and more about creating a space where lots of little ideas can find you.

I’m so very excited to be showing at Top Drawer this weekend and next week, a rather exciting occasion, and one I’m feeling incredibly proud to be part of.

I’ll be creating my own little corner of the show, filled with porcelain pieces, sketches, stories and all the things that make up the world of Eloise Rose.

If you’re already a stockist and you’re coming along, please do come and find me, I’d absolutely love to see you.

I have always been a bit against the idea that inspiration needs to be sought out. When I go in search of inspiration I often come out feeling lacking somehow. But when I allow myself to enjoy smaller moments in life, and be more curious, and keep observing, that’s when I find it.

This time it was a bridge in Florence with the reflections of buildings in the Arno.
Sometimes it is a very particular patch of ochre on a wall that i can’t quite stop thinking about. (I am very frequently thinking of the faded colours of Italian walls).

I’m endlessly drawn to architecture, light and water, perhaps because they are all constantly changing depending on each other , the weather and where you happen to be standing.

This piece came from that very particular combination of Italian buildings, still water and a sky full of clouds.

A very enjoyable form of research, really.

The Losing Sight of the Shore collection is officially coming back for a second release!
When the first collection sold out in a single day (with many pieces gone in just minutes!), I was completely blown away. Seeing the waitlist grow ever since has been so gorgeous, and I’m beyond grateful for every single one of you who cheered this collection on.
Because so many of you missed out, I headed straight back to the workbench to craft a fresh batch of these ocean swept silver and porcelain treasures.
Because each piece is handmade, quantities are limited once again.
