The Crepe Paper Botanist I create crepe paper flowers and plants as botanically correct as possible.

The crepe paper I use is not the same as the thin paper used for streamers, it is a special floristry crepe which is much, much thicker and, in most cases colourfast.

To all my lovely followers, thank you for your encouragement and lovely comments about my paper flowers over the last few years, I have really appreciated them all. I haven’t been active for quite sometime as I have, what can only be described as brain fungus. I am currently on treatment to shrink the fungus and will be having an operation to remove it pretty soon, this operation is high risk and may leave me with a lot of health issues, even if it is successful. I don’t know when, or even if, I’ll ever get back to my flowers and, I’d like to ask a favour of all my local followers. My Husband is a Barber and, as a result of my condition, he has decided to go mobile. This beautiful common poppy is the Norfolk County flower. I created this as a gift for one of my lovely repeat customers using doublette crepe paper. Doublette is quite a fine crepe, so it is perfect for more delicate, papery blooms like the poppy 💐

Work in progress. Need a couple more things to fill in some gaps, then add some lights and this fabulous paper centrepiece will be finished. I’m feeling indecisive today though, I’m torn between ivy, mistletoe, holly, pine cones or some more flowers. What do you think?
