I’m not playing “the floor is lava” today, but “the knitting is lava” and I have to avoid it touching me! And when you’re knitting a DK colourwork scarf in the round that’s not easy. But thanks to my magic tray my work is on that and not me so I can carry on with getting my Snowflakes scarf sample knitted up before I put out the tester call!

What are you all working on today?

It’s Patterns To Knit This Weekend time again and I have some lovely patterns that are light and relaxing to knit.

There’s two DK hat patterns: Hip To Be Squarish and Different Path that are simple to knit, but both have the most gorgeous crowns.

Then there’s the light and airy Holey Moley! that just takes one skein of 4ply to create a beautiful small shawl/scarf that is a perfect all year round accessory.

And then there’s Lady Thistledown, a lovely 2 skein 4ply scarf that is just the kind of lightweight scarf that you need on breezy summer coastal walks.

And if you pop along to the pattern store link in my bio there’s 25% off these 4 patterns on Ravelry until next Friday, June 5th!

Let me know which is your favourite in the comments below and make sure you’re following along for more pattern news and offers and of course my upcoming Path Fingerless mitt pattern!

Happy Knitting!

Choosing the right project to knit in the heat can be tricky especially if you’re chomping at the bit to knit something that you know will give you the knit sweats. So if you’re looking for something other than 4ply shawls or tops and you’re dreaming about when you can wear proper autumn clothes, one skein DK projects are your friend!

They’re small, portable projects…ideal for travel, sitting by the pool or indoors sat in front of the fan(s)! And here is a little selection for you which, if you head to my profile, can all be found in my pattern store links.

Stay cool and happy knitting!

It’s and whilst I have a few on the go, here is one that you need to know about now because next week you can buy the pattern!

Now these DK fingerless mitts need steam blocking before I sew them up and frankly it’s been too warm for that shizzle! But I wanted to show you the detail of the mitts.

Knitted flat, they follow the same pattern as my Path cowl and Different Path Beanie (there will be a pattern bundle available if you want to get all three patterns to make the set). Each mitt is different as the pattern mirrors and the palm is lovely as it continues in the wider rib.

The mitts come in 3 sizes: Small (17.5cm circumference), Medium (20cm circ) and large (22.5cm circ)

I’ll be blocking and finishing off the mitts over the next couple of days for their modelled shots and the pattern for my Path Fingerless mitts will be launched next Thursday, June 5th! So make sure you’re following along!

It is May isn’t it? I only ask because a) I’m very tempted to put my Pine Needle scarf on today as it’s cold (or maybe it’s just me!) and b) the pattern is getting a lot of love this week!

And so it should because it’s a relaxing knit, it’s a scarf that suits everyone, and the pattern has a chunky and aran version so it’s a great pattern to have in your collection.

So if you scoot over to the pattern stores link in my bio, you too can get your copy of my bestseller! 😁

As well as a number of new patterns coming up in the second half of the year, I am once again updating, refining and revamping some of my existing patterns too so that they are shown at their very best!

And this year, the plan is to revamp 6 of my patterns. Something For The Big Weekend (top left) has already been done. And over the coming months, I will be revamping my Seif cowl (top mid) and my infinity cowl Sidewinder (top right), Little Drop (bottom left), Something For The Long Weekend (bottom mid) and Scarf Number 4 (bottom right) patterns.

So make sure you’re following along for more updates for all these revamps and my new patterns too!

It’s weird weather today. One minute it’s warm, then it’s cold and yet you know whatever you wear is either going to make you too warm or not warm enough.

And that’s where accessories like Something For The Daytrip come in to their own.

It’s a one skein 4 ply wonder so it’s not too big. It’s 4 ply so it’s not too warm, but it’s warm enough. It has eyelets to add a touch of airiness, but airiness also traps air for cosiness! So whether you’re looking for an accessory to wear on indecisive weather summer days or to wear with a jacket in spring or autumn, or ti accessorise a jumper in winter, Something For The Daytrip is a pattern worth getting your hands on!

And it’s not hard to knit, in fact it’s quite relaxing. But it does require care! It’s got a fairly big cast on so lots of stitch markers will help you keep track of your stitch count. But it has zero cast off so there’s a bonus!

As for the design detail, it’s simply alternating sections of stockinette and twisted eyelets. But these sections are offset to create the overall broken chevron effect. So when you get to the middle of your row, just remember that the second half changes!

And if you need another reason to add this pattern to your summer knit collection, it’s currently got 25% off on Ravelry until Friday 22nd May! The pattern link will be in my stories and you can also access Ravelry store by clicking the pattern store link in my bio!

And now I’m off to finish knitting my fingerless mitt samples for the upcoming addition to my Path Collection. What are you all working on today?

What do my Big Drop (top) and Something For The Daytrip (bottom) patterns have in common apart from both being published in May (even if it was 2 years and 4years ago respectively!) and both being great summer time knits?

Well if you go to the pattern store link in my bio, click on Ravelry and look for Big Drop and Something For The Daytrip you’ll get 25% off the patterns until Friday, May 22nd!

Happy Knitting!

It’s Friday so it’s Patterns To Knit This Weekend time! And this week I’ve got two patterns that are celebrating their second and fourth anniversaries and two which I don’t mention enough!

Big Drop and Something For The Daytrip are both lovely summer knits, but they’re so much more than that! Knit as they are, wear all year round or you can embellish them, use different types of yarn and create really versatile accessories. And to celebrate their anniversaries you can get 25% off these two patterns on Ravelry until next Wednesday, May 19th!!

Seif and Hip To Be Fancy Squared are lovely one skein DK cowl knits (and given the unpredictable UK weather at the moment you might be reaching for a cowl pattern right now!). But whilst they may not be the biggest projects, they certainly keep you entertained.

Seif is knitted in the round and has sand cables travelling up it to give a lovely soft texture. And Hip To Be Fancy Squared has two types of textures: Moss stitch borders and blocks as well as stockinette blocks. Simple, but keeps you on your toes!

Let me know which is your favourite and make sure you’re following along for more pattern and upcoming design news.

Happy Knitting!
