Deep green metro tiles, brushed brass finishes and striking Gatsby-inspired flooring created the foundations of the design, while our client’s bold tiger wallpaper brought everything together and made the room truly unique.

Howegate took care of the full supply and installation, with the wallpaper supplied separately by our client.

This one involved a little more than simply replacing the bathroom…

Same bathroom. Completely different space

We completely reworked the space, including removing an internal wall, redirecting the plumbing and changing the layout to create a much more open, practical and modern bathroom.

The finished room now features both a separate shower enclosure and bath, complemented by a much brighter, cleaner and more contemporary finish throughout.

It’s a great example of what can be achieved when you look beyond the existing layout and consider how the space could work better.

A Bathroom Update from Howegate

This project is a great example of why we don’t simply look at what’s already there — we look at what the space could become.

Our client wanted to replace their en-suite, but after receiving previous advice, they weren’t sure how much could realistically be changed.

The main challenge was the shower. Because of its unusual dimensions, they’d previously been advised to keep the existing 860 x 800mm tray and simply work around it.

We approached it differently.

By specifying a Novellini Novosolid shower tray, which can be cut to accommodate unusual spaces, we were able to rethink the shower area rather than allowing the existing tray to dictate the new design.

Once we completed the full rip-out, we discovered that the original builders had actually patched and adapted a significant amount of the enclosure just to make the old tray fit.

Removing all of this gave us the opportunity to completely transform the space.

The original 860 x 800mm shower tray was replaced with a much more generous 1100 x 900mm tray, immediately opening up the enclosure and creating a considerably more spacious and comfortable shower.

For the overall look, our client chose warm, neutral, nature-inspired tones — creating a fresh, calming en-suite that feels modern without being overly clinical.

The project involved a complete rip-out, plastering and tiling, relocation of the heated towel rail, installation of an electric toothbrush charger, modern modular furniture and a concealed shower system.

The end result isn’t simply a newer version of the bathroom that was there before. It’s a better use of the space — and exactly why good bathroom design should start with exploring what’s possible rather than simply replacing like-for-like.
