Terms and conditions
Quote validity – The above quotation is only valid for 14 days from the date of receipt. This is due to my suppliers increasing the price of materials from time to time as well as any promotional prices offered returning to their regular cost. Unforeseen work – Every effort has been made to provide you with a quotation that is as accurate as possible, however there are occas
ionally unforeseen problems that will need to be addressed before I can proceed. These normally come in the form of poor wall condition found underneath wallpaper that is being removed as part of your job / painting on top of lining paper or previously badly prepared woodwork etc. Should any of this damage or complications arise, I will discuss all options and additional costs with you before proceeding. Paint supplies – I tend to use my preferred choice of branded paints for certain work to be carried out to obtain the best results. If you opt to source your own products additional labour charges may be incurred for applying extra coats to achieve satisfactory coverage. Similarly, if you instruct me to purchase an alternative brand of paint the costs will be adjusted accordingly. Payment schedule – Payment should be made upon completion of your work. I accept cash but would prefer bank transfer payments if possible. Deposits/Interim payments – I don’t normally ask for deposits however for larger jobs (2 weeks or more or exceeding £200 in materials) a deposit or weekly interim payments may be required. You will be informed in advance if this is to be the case and any deposits and/or interim payments will be deducted from your final invoice accordingly. Any interim payments requested will never exceed the value of materials or work carried out up to that date. Damaged work – If my work is part of an overall larger project involving multiple trades, I will not be held responsible for any damage caused as a result of their actions. Should any damage of this nature occur I will happily provide a no obligation quotation to repair or touch up the damage, it will be your responsibility to pursue the person who damaged it for recompense. Site preparation – Prior to my arrival on your agreed date all working areas must be cleared allowing me to carry out my work unhampered. Smaller items and breakables should be boxed and removed completely. Where possible, please remove smaller furniture to another room also. Let me know of any larger items that cannot be removed and I will either make arrangements to have them removed or cover them up to the best of my ability along with your existing floor covering and immovable objects such as kitchen units or built in wardrobes. Radiator removal – In most cases painting and wallpapering can be carried out without the need to remove your radiators. If you decide that you would like them removed for a better standard of finish, please arrange your own plumber prior to my arrival. Start dates – I normally agree a proposed start date upon acceptance of my quote however from time to time there may be circumstances outside of my control (such as the weather or delays by other trades) that prevent me from getting to you by the agreed date. In the event of this being the case, I will contact you immediately to make you aware and to agree a change to the date. By accepting this quotation you are agreeing to these terms and conditions
