So impressed with how quickly Lily has picked up her chicken training 🐶🐔

I absolutely love collies, but with those strong instincts to chase and herd, helping her learn to be calm around the girls was always going to be an important part of her training.

Those same instincts make her my perfect partner in crime for helping keep them safe 🤍 She’s learning that the girls can go about their day without her joining in!

Still plenty of training ahead, but I’m so proud of how far she’s come already.

Autumn, for me, feels like a time to slow down, turn inwards and nourish ourselves in new ways. From the seasonal foods we put on our plates to the little rituals that help our skin recover after the summer months.

Before it becomes a candle, it looks like this 🐝

I personally melt, strain and filter all the beeswax from our own hives by hand. Some of it gets poured into blocks, but mainly... It looks like this!

A lot of it goes into the candles that you all love this time of year, all made by me in my home kitchen. But you'll also find our beeswax in so many of our skincare products, from balms and body butters to deodorants and lipbalms.

Honeycomb, just as the bees made it 🐝🍯

This was something I decided to give a try last year, and it took a lot of planning. My little brain struggled with that part, especially as I’m very time blind and organising isn’t one of my personal strengths 😂 But wow, seeing it all come together has been lovely.

A few of you have already had some honeycomb in your deliveries, and I’d love to know what you think! My daughters adored it. You can eat it just as it is, or try a little with cheese or yoghurt.

This year is a trial, so I only have a limited amount available. I’m already planning for next year, and some will be going into the one that won’t be named hampers… 🎄👀

From hive to candle 🐝🕯️

It's that time of year again when I seem to spend half my life pouring candles.

There's something satisfying about turning blocks of beeswax into finished candles. No added artificial fragrance, no artificial colors just pure beeswax with its own subtle honey scent. 🍯

Every batch is a little different depending on the wax I'm working with, from the colour to the scent, and that's one of the things I love most about working with beeswax.💛

Can you spot the chunky drones? 👀🐝

Big eyes, chunky bodies, wandering around the hive pretending they’re busy… 😂

Drones are the only male bees in the colony. They don’t collect pollen or nectar, make honey, or defend the hive their main role is to mate with a queen.

When the colder months arrive and food becomes precious, the worker bees decide it’s time for the drones to leave. They’re pushed out of the hive because the colony can’t afford to feed them through winter!

Poor little fellas… living the easy life until eviction day! 😂🐝
