This is something to really get behind.
Giving local talented young players the opportunity to play and compete at a higher standard.

🏉 NORTH POWYS SCHOOLS DISTRICT RUGBY — PROJECT UPDATE 🟡🔴

Exciting plans are taking shape as we work to create a genuine district rugby pathway for young players across North Powys.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 LAUNCH MEETING

📅 Thursday 17th September
⏰ 7.00pm
📍 Welshpool RFC

We will provide updates on Welsh Schools affiliation, our proposed structure and season timeline, and what we hope to achieve in both the short and long term.

All schools, clubs, coaches, parents and players are welcome!

🏉 OPEN TRAINING AND SELECTION

Our approach will always focus on opportunity and development, giving as many young players as possible the chance to train & play alongside other players and qualified coaches from across North Powys.

We aim to add tournaments and friendly fixtures against other districts before moving towards the competitive period later in the season, when other districts operate selective A and B squads.

🤩 COACHING AND MANAGEMENT

We already have a small but ambitious and qualified team:

🏉 Sasha Corfield — Secretary and Team Manager
🏉 Jordan Davies — Qualified Coach, Llanidloes
🏉 Ben Corfield — Qualified Coach, Welshpool

We want this to become a truly inclusive community project, supported by people from across North Powys. Coaches and volunteers who can assist with management, administration, media, sponsorship or matchdays are invited & encouraged to message our page.

🦸‍♂️ THE DISTRICT EXPERIENCE

We will strive to provide our players with a true district experience, including:

👕 Playing and training kit
👔 District ties
🧢 Representative caps
🏉 Fixtures, tournaments and development opportunities
🤝 A strong sense of identity and belonging

A huge thank you to Danny Williams of Revive carpets & flooring ltd, who have sponsored our main playing jersey and shown fantastic early support for the project. The Heart of Wales 7s is also supporting with sponsorship for the kit & wider initiatives.

We would also love to hear from other businesses or organisations interested in supporting us this season. A range of bespoke sponsorship opportunities can be discussed.

📲 PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD

Please share this with players, parents, coaches, clubs and primary schools so nobody across North Powys misses the opportunity to get involved.

The more people who join us, the greater the development opportunity will be for our players, coaches and junior rugby throughout North Powys.

One district. One identity. A pathway for North Powys. 🟡🔴
