Just completed (and still wet).

Meet the Scarlet Samurai, an Original oil on canvas the 1st of a trilogy of female samurai in oils I worked on, the other two being 'Xanadu Samurai' and finally 'Black Samurai', Scarlet is a 20" x 16" oil on canvas portrait that fuses strength, poise, and a sense of untold story. I wanted to capture not just the striking red of the kimono, but the quiet intensity in her gaze and the narrative tension in her stance. Xanadu Samurai
This is 'Xanadu Samurai ' Second of a trilogy of female Samurai, 20" x 16" Oil on canvas portrait by Papillon, following on from Scarlet Samurai, the first of the triology.
I painted "xanadu Samurai" to portray a quiet, intense moment — a seated woman with a katana resting behind her, the muted colors set against delicate floral embroidery. I wanted the composition to convey calm resilience: small shifts in posture and the direction of her gaze reveal a story that continues past the frame. ‘Sting like a Bee’ a 50cm x 40cm Oil on canvas board painting, is my homage to the one and only Muhammad Ali—a legend whose spirit was as bold as his words. I wanted to capture that iconic energy, the moment of challenge, and the spark in his eyes. Every brushstroke was about channeling his confidence and charisma.
