New stock. This beautiful workbench which would be an amazing kitchen island. This has been sanded and waxed using dark oak by Briwax International. Still lots of patina remaining.

After a lot of thought, Painted Yard is now Plank & Pigeon.

The move away from my unit at Battlesbridge and towards online sales and workshop appointments felt like the right time to create a brand that better reflects the new direction.

The shop will remain open until the end of June.

The workshop remains open for viewings by appointment, and I’ll continue sharing new pieces, workshop builds and reclaimed finds here.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported Painted Yard over the years. Whether you’ve bought a piece, visited the shop, stopped for a chat or followed along online, it’s genuinely appreciated.

Here’s to the next chapter.

A little update from Painted Yard..

After a lot of thought, the time has come for me to step away from the shop at Battlesbridge Antiques Centre.

Over the next few weeks, Painted Yard will be moving away from a permanent retail space and focusing more on online sales and workshop-based appointments.

This next step gives me more time to focus on sourcing, building and creating new pieces — and a little more freedom to take the business in a new direction.

Although the shop will be closing, customers will still be very welcome to view furniture and available pieces at the workshop by appointment.

There’s also a rebrand in the works, which I’m really excited to share soon 👀

To everyone who’s supported the shop at Battlesbridge over the years — thank you. Whether you’ve bought a piece, stopped for a chat, or followed along online, it genuinely means a lot.

I’m really looking forward to this new chapter. The shop will be open until Sunday 28th June with a 20% off sale starting tomorrow.

Rustic console table made from reclaimed timber, finished in a rich dark wax that brings out all the natural grain and character of the wood.

Just finished these garden chairs for a client. They already had the bench ends (check last couple of photos, to see what I started with). I used barrel staves to get a lovely curve, these are so comfortable. I’ve left them natural as that’s what the customer wanted. There were some lovely smells coming from the wood when I was cutting and sanding. Let me know if you need something done.
