An enjoyable morning working alongside Etons of Bath to transform a lovely apartment in Queen Square, Bath.

Measuring up windows and doors and getting started on what will be a really exciting project.

More to follow over the next couple of months…

A living room glow in North Bradley.

Just getting started with four made-to-measure interlined Roman blinds in this lovely sage green woven fabric, with matching interlined triple-pleat full-length curtains to follow.

Follow along to see it progress.

A pair of bespoke upholstered cube footstools, handcrafted in my Wiltshire workroom for an interior design client in Bath.

Built to the client’s specified dimensions, each stool began as a solid timber frame before being carefully built up with high-density foam, wadding and a fire-retardant interlining, then finished in a beautiful Romo fabric supplied by the client.

Every stage, from frame construction through to the final upholstery, was completed by hand to create a pair of simple, elegant pieces.

Thank you to Woodhouse & Law for the opportunity. I look forward to seeing them in their new home.

If you’re looking for bespoke upholstered furniture, curtains or blinds, I’d be delighted to discuss your project.

Delighted to be working with Woodhouse & Law in Bath on the manufacture of two bespoke contemporary upholstered footstools for one of their latest interior design projects.

Each piece will be manufactured from scratch, from the timber frame through to the finished upholstery, using Leon fabric by Romo, selected by the client.

Looking forward to sharing the finished result.

Following on from last month’s Roman blinds, Rebecca was back with another project for me. This time it was a storage footstool to reupholster, along with a set of matching scatter cushions made from the remaining fabric to complement her new sofa.
It’s always a pleasure helping bring a room together.

A new project on the worktable this week.

My client fell in love with this beautiful Joules fabric for their country cottage, but unfortunately it wasn’t available to purchase by the metre.

Rather than compromise on the design, we’re taking two pairs of ready-made curtains and transforming them into a completely bespoke set of interlined curtains.

The original pencil pleat headings will be removed, the curtains cut to their new dimensions, interlined for added body and drape, paired with a ticking stripe lining, and finished with elegant Euro double pleat headings.

It’s a lovely example of how ready-made furnishings can sometimes provide the perfect starting point for a truly bespoke result.

I’ll share more photos as the transformation progresses.

On the work table this week… a pair of bespoke Roman blinds in a richly textured navy and off-white jacquard featuring an intricate bird and foliage design.

While the machine gets a brief outing, much of the making is in the preparation and hand-sewn finishing that brings everything together.

A lovely project that’s now starting to take shape.
