So grateful to be able to get away with the family! Enjoying the peace, gentle chirps of the birds and the morning sun with my paintbrushes, and furry companion on the decking of our lodge in the new Forrest as the family gradually wakes.

We were wondering if we could afford a family holiday this year, so I am all the more grateful and thankful to God for his provision and the sunshine during this holiday. Time to rest, refresh with my favourite people.

Second pour of yesterday’s.

Mixture of greens using the hair drier blow effect. What did it look like to you? What is your inspiration. I would love to hear your ideas! Might help me with inspiration of knowing what to pain on top.

Feeling a lot better on my recovery and decided to up the art game a bit. My lovely hubby set me up in the lounge so I can try my hand at Pouring paint / acrylic fluid art again. It has been around 2 years since I’ve done one as I just was not sure where I would do it and it needs to spend time sitting and drying for a couple of days. So here it goes and hoping to paint something on top.

I really liked the swirls before I did a silicone oil swipe and thought I had ruined it. But it came into its own when I torched the air bubbles. It will be a water theme of some sort so stay tuned for part 2 of this piece once it is dried.

“Prayer warrior”

I rediscovered this painting I did quite a while ago. It is a copy of the original so it’s lost a bit of its colour.

When I saw my friend and her prayer life and faith in God I would see this picture. Not only the verse on the picture came to mind, which originally talks about a city, but Ephesians 6 which is a picture of a soldier putting on the armour of God.
God is often described as the lion of Judah in the bible.

I wanted to depict surrender in prayer 🙏🏻 but ready and alert with the armour of God. ( only thing missing is the helmet here)

“Freedom”

Request number 3 from my daughter 😊.
It brought back memories of me as a child her age. All I seemed to want to draw was horses. They are such beautiful, majestic and strong animals.

Again, watercolour is the chosen medium for this and the more I paint with it the more I understand it the more I enjoy painting with it.

As I become more able to do more I am hoping to get back into fluid art.

“mclaren” (don’t ask me which exact make or model 😅)

As requested by my youngest who is a whiz at recognising cars. He requested me to paint him a McLaren. I am not sure if I’ve ever painted a car before and it was more difficult than I thought. I’m more of a natural beauty painter rather than a man made beauty painter. But I know that a lot of people, including my youngest, can show appreciation at the artistic creativity of men in what ever they make; in this case cars.

Something to add to my painting story which is a little different 😄.

“Fuji San (Mount Fuji Japan) in autumn”

This was a request from my eldest who wanted a picture of Mount Fuji 🗻 and found a photograph for me as a guide.

As some of you may know I grew up in Japan and Mount Fuji as always been an iconic mountain, of surrounding beauty and strength out of something that can be quite terrifying.

Mountains are often used in the bible. I am looking for a great verse for my son to put in this picture as a reminder for him. I am open to suggestions and will post the winning one later.

“The first miracle”

This is a painting depicting the miracle where Jesus turns water into wine. Where John explains in John chapter 2 as “the first of the signs through which he revealed his glory”.

My inspiration were paintings I’ve seen of Jesus reaching down to save Peter from drowning when he walked on water.

The viewer is looking up from the jar holding the water.

The gesture of Jesus’s hand in the water represents a personal open invitation rather than a command, symbolising Jesus Christ’s call to relationship, grace, and response. The rippling circles show the water being turned into wine but also a future symbol into his pouring out his blood as the ultimate sacrificial saving us from our sins. The ripples show movement, the idea that divine love radiates outward, touching all who are willing to receive it.
Around this central gesture are four figures. One is clear to be the mother of Jesus Mary who helped to intercede on behalf of the potentially humiliated couple for running out of wine at their wedding. Her smile hopefully depicts a quiet assurance or her knowledge of who Jesus is and that he is capable as God’s son and always points to him as she encourages the servants to “do what ever he tells you”. (John 2:5). A reminder to us all to obey the call of our saviour in what ever circumstance we fine ourselves in.

The other two could be up to the viewers interpretation, the servants or the disciples who when witnesses the miracle were said to “believe in Him” (John 2:11)

The figure of Jesus stands calmly among them, not through grandeur but through gentleness and presence. His gaze I was trying to depict is steady and compassionate, reinforcing the message that faith is rooted in relationship rather than spectacle.
