A small insight into how I started..
It took me a full 7 years of learning things before I even knew what I wanted to do. The graphic design scene was over saturated, web design and html became a huge thing and was my weakest spot (yes I could have learnt how to, but it stressed my brain out). So rather than letting that get to me I thought ‘why not do what I am naturally good at’ and that was writing pretty.
I guess you could say that the calligraphy world is getting populated by the dozens, but the people who stay are the ones that are passionate. Everyone finds their own path, whether it’s nib & ink calligraphy, pyrography, brush/paint lettering, chalkboard artist/sign painter. The list is never ending and there is no right or wrong about the art, it’s all about finding your own groove.
For me I have done weddings, both photography and sign painting, also love using my pyrography pen and use different materials to write on like wood or acrylic for my sign painting.
