So, a little about me and how I got here (not literally as we all know how that works)........
I have been creating for as long as I can remember, knitting, sewing and working with pens and paper from a young girl, so a VERY long time. I then got into card making when I was pregnant with my son 22 years ago,my mum had ordered some card making bits from the tv that she hadn't used so she gave them
to me to help with the boredom of being home pre baby. That lead to me starting and teaching at card making clubs and selling at various craft fairs with my best crafty buddy Kay ( I still feel a bit guilty for getting her into card making as she could probably have the canal boat she has always craved if she hadn't bought so much craft product over the years, but she promises me she's ok with it..) Then I had my first adventure with mixed media about 10 years ago, painting canvases with acrylic paints, adding dimension with glass beads, sands and metallics. I was lucky enough to gain a few commssion and sales from a few art events but it was always a part time hobby. As a single mum of three, I had to put the art on the back burner while life took over and I stuck with "proper paid work" although the love of craft didn't disappear. I had my 50th birthday last year and not long after that my health took a down turn and has been on and off since. So I have decided life is too short to fill your day with things that dont make you happy. The thing that makes me happy is creating and learning new techniques and sharing the joys of being creative.
