✨ The Story Behind My Work – Part 14: A Dream Carried Forward ❤️
Every craft has a history, but every craftsman also has a dream.
For me, that dream began long before Abou El Aala Tiles & Cast Stone became my business.
I come from a family where cast stone and tile making have been passed down through generations. My great-grandfather, my grandfather and my father all played their part in keeping this craft alive. My father was the one who taught me, and the lessons I learned from him are still with me every day.
Today, I am continuing that journey here in England.
Starting my own business is about more than making beautiful vases, bowls, trays, coasters, tables and bespoke tiles.
It’s about bringing a part of my heritage into people’s homes. It’s about taking the knowledge passed down through my family and combining it with my own ideas, colours and designs.
Some days are challenging. Every handmade business requires patience, hard work and belief in what you do. But whenever I finish a piece and see the result of all that care, I’m reminded why I started.
I want people to see more than an object when they look at my work.
I want them to see the time behind it, the hands that created it, the generations of craftsmanship that inspired it, and the love I put into making it.
Because for me, this isn’t simply about selling products.
It’s about carrying a family tradition forward while building something of my own.
My father taught me the craft. My heritage gave me my roots. And now, with my own hands, I’m writing the next chapter of that story here in England.
