I’m joining the Henley Arts Trail this weekend!
So excited to be taking part for the first time during their 20th Anniversary year! I’ll be at the gorgeous Blackmore Farm (Venue 21), with some very, very talented artists:

Contemporary ceramics.
Atmospheric "en plein air" landscapes.
Intuitive, emotive watercolours.
Detailed sculptural flower portraits.
Elegant figurative sculptures.
Justyn Fowler: Artistic woodturning and resin work.

And my gold twiggy stuff!

York Open Studios is oh so very nearly here! Over the next two weekends 150 artists across 100 venues will be showing their work across the city of York. You can see where all the dib dabbing happens!

You can find , .fife and myself at venue 31, tucked away behind the Crescent near the Everyman in York. It's a five minute walk (if that) from the train station and Micklegate bar. We'll have biscuits...

But about the picture! This type of barnacle is called a Pink Volcano!

I have loved working out how to paint pattern while trying to keep it lively!
There are some mini ornamentals coming soon... in the build up to some very large pieces using pattern for a pretty special project later this Summer.

I've been thinking a lot about adornment lately. The instinct to gather, layer, hold on to small treasures. Shells, fragments, flourishes. I have been digging through the British Museum and V&A's incredible online archives of everything from ornate plasterwork to textile design, as these ideas congeal.

My recent work has been growing out of this- a mix of victorian grottoes and tapestries to wrap ourselves in against all the awfulness that blows in on the news. Gathering seashells. Weaving intricate, gold nests.

This little one is half of a pair, taken from different sections of the same pattern.
