AKI
AKI is a modern Japanese Kaiseki restaurant designed as an immersive sensory journey shaped by timber. The surrounding walls are wrapped in dark wood panels featuring a hand-chiseled texture reminiscent of traditional Japanese Naguri craftsmanship. This sculpted backdrop is beautifully balanced by delicate woven rattan and washi paper inserts in the coffered ceiling, introducing warmth and tactility to every corner without introducing visual noise.
At the same time, through a thoughtful play of light and shadow, contrasting deep chiseled textures with the softness of untreated wood and an ambient glow—the design beautifully distills the spirit of Wabi-Sabi into a refined, contemporary dining destination.
