A taste for the luxury of silver and its craftsmanship can be traced back to the Asia Minor and the Greek Islands region during the period 4000BC. The love for this precious metal and its wonderful sculptural forms continued through the Roman Empire, thereafter being prominent across France and Europe. Today, the art form is a rare and disappearing skillset, with few artisans having had the apprenticeship required to acquire and pass forward the technique of creating intricate works of art from simply a sheet of silver. We however look at this as a challenge to ensure each and every piece in our collection preserves the rich history of this cultural skill set. Every month our procurement team goes through thousands of designs and commission only the most unique works. A team of highly skilled artisans, that have had the trade running through their families for generations, spend months working meticulously to hand craft each and every intricate piece from beginning to end. This ensures that each and every piece in a collection provides a truly unique and rich experience. Materials:
Silver by Temptations collection predominately makes use of 92.5% or higher purity of silver as the underlying material for each piece. This is also seamlessly blended with the finest semi-precious stones, namely:
- Rubies
- Emeralds
- Red Coral
- Turquoise
- Amber
- Nephrite Jade
These semi-precious stones are sourced from across the globe, from the Myanmar and Afghan region to China and India. Known as generally soft materials, both the transportation and cutting to the required level of detail and shapes for each and every piece is meticulous process that requires months of attention from our artisans. Investment:
Over time Silver has been of great value as a currency in the form of coins and investment bars, tracing back to the ancient region of Lydia (western most part of Asia) and even the British Pound Sterling currency first representing the value of one-pound total weight of sterling silver. Today, it is a regularly traded commodity, and can be used as a hedge against inflation, currency movements or simply a play on the increasing industrial and commercial uses. The precious metal has also seen key secular shifts in demand, painting a bullish picture for it’s future. Silver is considered by many to be the new ‘gold’ for main street, as Silver is a significantly more affordable commodity like Gold once was, allowing individuals and families to invest and collect silver without spending the months mortgage. Further, unlike Gold, with a large number of industrial and commercial uses in products such as computers, cell phones, solar panels and health care equipment, silver demand is ever growing and it’s industrial demand seen outstripping supply – before even considering retail investment purchases. Now your clients, friends and family can purchase home décor and silverware that not only is aesthetically pleasing and rich with history, but also an underlying asset value which will appreciate over time.
