Project KC explores the idea of transforming a conventional private office into a space that feels more like a curated retreat. Instead of approaching it purely from a functional standpoint, the design introduces a sense of escape—where the user can momentarily disconnect while remaining productive. A strong monochrome palette anchors the space, with the black-and-white patterned stone flooring acting as a visual rhythm that guides movement through the interior. This bold foundation is balanced by warm, diffused lighting and soft architectural curves at the ceiling, creating a calming atmosphere reminiscent of resort environments. Materiality plays a key role in defining zones. Dark timber and textured wall panels add depth and intimacy, while lighter stone surfaces and concealed lighting bring contrast and refinement. The lounge area is designed as a pause point that encouraging informal conversations or quiet reflection while the workspace itself remains composed and grounded. Sculptural lighting elements act as functional art pieces, subtly reinforcing the narrative of lightness and escape. Meanwhile, moments of pattern and color like the feature wall and red accent inject personality without overwhelming the overall calmness. The result is a workspace that shifts the experience of “office” into something more emotional: a place that supports focus, but also restores energy.
